Elon Musk’s daughter from his first marriage has filed a petition to change her name, saying she wants "nothing to do with" her biological father.

The 18-year-old  - who identifies as a transgender woman - is the daughter of the 50-year-old Tesla CEO and his first wife, Justine Wilson. The couple married in 2000 and separated in 2008.

Documents show that the teen filed a request to change her name to her new gender identity at the Los Angeles County superior court in Santa Monica in April.

She has decided to change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson - using her mother’s maiden name - and said in the petition, according to Reuters: "I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape, or form".

Per The Independent, a hearing on the name change petition is set to begin on Friday. Neither a lawyer who represents the SpaceX founder nor the Tesla media office has reacted to the petition or released any statements on the matter.

Besides the petition, there was no further explanation of the rift between Musk's daughter and her billionaire father, who is attempting a $44 billion takeover of the social media platform Twitter.

However, in May, about a month after the name and gender change document was filed in court, Musk declared his support for the Republican Party, which has endorsed legislations that would attempt to limit transgender rights in states across the country.

Musk has weighed in on the issue of transgender people choosing their preferred pronouns, tweeting in December 2020, "I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare."

His tweet was a reply to an article that criticized him over a meme he’d shared showing an animated soldier wearing a hat that says "I love to oppress" and rubbing blood on his face with the caption: "When you put he/him in [your] bio."

In the same year, the richest man in the world had also said in another tweet to his 99 million followers on the social media platform that "pronouns suck".

As well as Vivian, Musk has six other children, including his daughter's twin, Griffin, and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian, all 16, whom he shared with his wife of eight years.

Additionally, Musk is also a father to two-year-old X Æ A-Xii (nicknamed X) and six-month-old Exa Dark Sideræl (nicknamed Y) with singer Grimes.
