Fans in the United Kingdom were left speechless after a casual day out to a soccer game ended in a meet-and-greet at a pub with legendary actor Will Ferrell.

Ever since we heard about major Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney taking an interest in Welsh soccer clubs after buying Wrexham AFC, it seems as though a new trend has started with other notable figures also following suit.

Ferrell, best known for his roles in Elf and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, turned up at a local boozer after attending a Wrexham AFC game at their National League clash against Wealdstone.

The 55-year-old was spotted chatting to the team's fans at The Turf pub in Wrexham earlier today (February 11).

Of course, fans couldn't help but pull their phones out to snap the incredible moment and upload it to social media.

"Just walking out the Turf. See some phones out. Walk over and just see Will Ferrell having a pint. As you do," one Wrexham fan wrote on Twitter, while another commented: "This is amazing. I didn’t think I could love Will Ferrell more."

Taking to the same social media platform, another local fan Jordan, better known by his handle @JordGriffXXIX, shared a photograph of the actor sitting and conversing with fans while holding a pint in his hand.

"Just Will Ferrell having a pint in the Turf," he wrote alongside the once-in-a-lifetime shot.

The post has since gained almost 5,000 likes and has been re-shared multiple times, with many describing the moment as "amazing."

"This is amazing. Will Ferrell having a pint with Wrexham fans at the nearby pub," wrote one user.

"This blows my mind," added another.

A third compared the moment to the upcoming Super Bowl event, saying even that couldn't top this.

"Everybody else: Superb [Bowl] this weekend whoo. Me: there are far more interesting sports things going on."

This isn't the first time the Blades of Glory star has made a trip down to Wales.

Back in May 2022, the actor accompanied the club's co-owner, Ryan Reynolds, during Wrexham AFC's game against Bromley at Wembley Stadium. They were also seen mingling with other famous faces such as former Manchester United player, David Beckham.

When speaking of Reynolds' soccer venture during an episode of Roger Bennett's Men in Blazers podcast last month, Ferrell said: "We are planning a trip in February to hit the triple crown — Fulham, QPR, and Wrexham."

He also challenged Jason Sudeikis while hilariously referencing his team in the hit show Ted Lasso to a game: "I think Ted's team, Ryan’s team, and LA FC should try and play each other at some point. Like a three-team tournament."

So if you're a local who's in the area, keep your eyes peeled because it's been reported that he plans to spend a few more of his weekends there.
