Earlier today, the news was announced that the Breaking Bad movie will drop on Netflix on October 11.
Now, fans are eagerly anticipating what El Camino has in store, with many reaching the conclusion that it will come with a twist - Walter White is still alive. This is because his death at the end of season five, though strongly implied, wasn't officially confirmed.
If you haven't seen it yet, this is the movie's teaser trailer:While there is no hint of the series' original protagonist in the video above, which features Skinny Pete being questioned by police and telling them that he doesn't know Jesse Pinkman' whereabouts, it did prompt fans to speculate about the absence of another character: Walter White.
One fan tweeted: "Am I the only one who thinks Walter White is alive and will come back in the movie? #BreakingBad."
Another wrote: "I really do think that Walter White is still alive. I mean did we ever actually hear them say he was dead? We just assumed he was."
A third fan agreed, writing: "I feel at the end of the movie Walter White gonna be alive."
A fourth added: "If Walter White is actually alive at the end of the breaking bad movie as like a twist and he's being held by police or whatever ima lose my s***."
However, not all fans were in favor of this potential plotline.
One wrote: "For me I rather not see him in it BC he'd be in prison forever. And wouldn't make sense BC he got shot."
Another remarked: "Locals wanting Walter White to still be alive and kicking. What would they do with him, it'd just be pointless?"
But Brian Cranston, the actor behind White, also hinted that we hadn't seen the last of his character. In an interview on Conan last year, he told host Conan O'Brien: "Maybe Walter White did get away with it."
"Was there a coroner's report? Was there a listing in the obituaries? No!"
