'Breaking Bad' star Mike Batayeh has died aged 52

Mike Batayeh, perhaps best known to fans for his role in the hit show Breaking Bad, has sadly died.

The news was confirmed by Batayeh's family in a statement to TMZ. The actor and comedian's loved ones said that Batayeh had passed away at the age of 52 after suffering a heart attack.

Batayeh died in his sleep at his Michigan home on June 1.

His family says his death was sudden, as Batayeh had no history of heart issues.

"He will be greatly missed by those who loved him and his great ability to bring laughter and joy to so many," a statement from his family read.

As previously mentioned, Batayeh appeared in three episodes of the hit AMC drama alongside Bryan Cranston from 2011-2012.

Playing the role of Dennis Markowski, Batayeh's character ran the Lavandería Brillante industrial laundromat - which was a the cover of Gus Fring's secret underground meth lab where Walt and Jesse would "cook".

According to Batayeh's IMDB page, the actor also appeared in other hit TV shows such as Everybody Loves Raymond, Boy Meets World, CSI: Miami, and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

On the big screen, Batayeh landed roles in movies such as American Dreams, Gas, Don't Mess With The Zohan, and has a leading role in Detroit Unleaded.

Batayeh was also a touring comic, and had headlined in top comedy clubs across the US - such as LA's Comedy Store and Improv and New York City's Gotham.

Proudly representing his Arab heritage, he was also part of the first wave of western comedians to perform for audiences in the Middle East, performing in locations such as Dubai. For two years in a row, he was also invited by the royal family of Jordan to perform at the Amman International Comedy Festival.

Batayeh is survived by his five sisters, along with his nieces and nephews. His funeral is currently set to take place on June 18.
