Jamie Lynn Spears reportedly in talks for 'Zoey 101' reboot
"Are you ready?" The first line of the Zoey 101 theme song poses a very important question, and my answer is undoubtedly "yes." I am ready because rumour has it that Nickelodeon wants to reboot the show 11 years after the last episode.
According to TMZ, Jamie Lynn Spears has been talking to executives about round two of Zoey 101. While nothing is set in stone, if the actress says yes, she will obviously continue playing Zoey Brooks.
Though the show likely wouldn't take place at Pacific Coast Academy (who wants to see more oldies acting like teens?), it is rumoured that we'd see Zoey in her life post-PCA. As it's been 11 years after the last season, and that would make Zoey 28 years old, just like Jamie Lynn is in real life. She might even have children in the reboot.
A house full of kids would be fitting since Britney Spears' little sister supposedly quit the show when she became pregnant.
Though, earlier this year, Jamie Lynn took to Instagram for the 14th anniversary of the show's premiere, and posted a caption rejecting the rumour:
Even though the contract ended, Jamie Lynn's kid is now grown and the star is ready to act again. Though we don't know who else, if anyone, from the old cast will join her, I have some high hopes. Fingers crossed she stayed with Chase, and that Logan is just as good to look at as he once was.
And fans are certainly on board. They took to Twitter to write: "This is it. The moment I’ve been waiting for for 11 years" and "If a reboot happens for Zoey 101, you won’t be seeing me for a while. Imma be watching that."
If you need me, I'll be binge watching all four seasons of Zoey 101 before Nickelodeon takes us back to the small suburban neighbourhood off the Pacific Coast. I can hear Stacy Dillsen saying "cotton schwab" already...
