John Cena did not tell fiancée about Amy Schumer sex scene where he was ‘inside her’
WWE legend-turned-actor John Cena revealed that he didn't tell his partner about a steamy scene he shot for a film back in 2015.
Cena starred alongside Amy Schumer in the comedy film Trainwreck, which was also written by the latter.
The cast also included the likes of Brie Larson, Bill Hader, and NBA superstar LeBron James in a title that featured several memorable scenes.
One of those included a hilarious sex scene between Cena's gym-obsessed character and Schumer's, who was less-than-impressed.
Schumer has spoken about the graphic scene a number of times over the years, which ended with Cena placing a towel over his parts after they had, err, relations.
But the former has joked that Cena was “actually inside” her while the cameras were rolling, claiming that the then-engaged man was “just about protected."
John Cena admitted that he kept the scene a secret
When the film came out, Cena was dating fellow WWE superstar Nikki Bella, real name Nicole Garcia, and he later admitted that he kept the sex scene with Schumer under wraps at first.
Speaking on Conan, the 48-year-old explained: “Honestly, I didn’t think I’d get the part,
"I kept putting it off, not telling Nicole, and not having the discussion of, ‘Hey there may be some graphic scenes.’
“So I got it and I couldn’t say no, so I kind of walked in one day and was like, ‘Hey, I’m kind of just doing this.’ And that was the wrong approach.”
Two years after the film came out, though, the pair became engaged at WrestleMania 33 in front of thousands, but the wedding was called off months later.
In the weeks leading up to the ceremony, it's believed that Cena admitted that he didn't want children, throwing the relationship into doubt.
Their public split marked the end of a six-year relationship, though the pair would remain good friends as Bella would go on to marry and then divorce Dancing with the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev.
Nikki Bella opened up on how the scene affected her
Bella claimed that the comedic Trainwreck sex scene had effectively ruined her solo sex sessions for a while.
It turns out that seeing your boyfriend getting steamy with another woman, albeit on-screen, is a massive turn-off.
She admitted that it put her off self-pleasure altogether, saying on her reality show previously: “Imagine watching your man do a sex scene and have the whole world see his big butt.
“You know, you get visuals. I swear, I couldn’t masturbate [in like] forever because I just think of the sex scene."
Amy Schumer said a lot about the sex scene
Speaking to MTV Australia while promoting the film, she said: “He was actually inside me. Who am I to stop him? It’s a whole universe, that butt. It’s not even human. It felt like having a refrigerator on top of me.”
Schumer joked about the physical demands of the scene, saying: “I think it was probably harder for him. He had to, like, do something. I just did what I usually do when I have sex. Just lay there.
"You know what? I didn’t get to feel his balls. It’s a major regret of mine. Major regret," she added.
Cena said that shooting the scene was awkward
While the star admitted that “Nicole had every right to be mad because I should have told her from the beginning,” he also spoke about the scene on a past podcast episode.
He revealed on the Club Shay Shay Podcast: "So it's real embarrassing, and on top of that, to do a comedic sex scene when you're making fun of yourself.
“She has such beautiful brown eyes and they glowed with red hellfire.
"She has such a great smile but she turned into like the alien and the predator at once.”
