Back in 2014, a little movie came out about a mourning man whose dog was killed by gangsters. That man was John Wick, played by Keanu Reeves, and he promptly proceeded to totally massacre the idiots that killed his dog, slaughtering hundreds of goons in the most stylish and satisfying violence ever put to screen.

It was awesome, perfectly-choreographed, and brutal. Best of all, it was a sleeper hit at the box office, inspiring a sequel not long after. Now the third installment of the franchise has arrived in cinemas, and fans are reporting that it's just as good as the previous movies, if not better. Which is why the news that a John Wick TV show is now in the works should be something that will make your day.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, John Wick creator and director Chad Stahelski stated:

"They have a writers' room working on it right now, trying to develop the first season. Keanu and I have sat with that creative element and laid out what we feel makes John Wick special, and what would make the TV show unique. Now, it will be a round of back-and-forths. But, yeah, Lionsgate is in the actual full development of it and it's called The Continental. It should be fun."

He added:

"I can't tell you enough about how amazed we are by everything. We did the first one, and my co-director at the time Dave Leitch, we finished the movie, watched the first cut, and we were already looking for second unit jobs. We were like,' Our directing careers are over! We're done! They're going to laugh at us!'

"The second one, me and Keanu watched, and went, 'We got a little weird on this one. We're never going to work again.' And it did well. This one, I'm already starting to look for janitorial jobs."

As if that wasn't cool enough for John Wick fans, the critical acclaim the threequel has garnered has definitely proven it to be one of the best action movies ever. Don't believe me? Then just consider the fact that the movie has an almost-perfect Rotten Tomatoes rating.

Finally, check out Keanu Reeves training with actual US Marines for his role as Wick. He's a machine!
