A man who lost his virginity on a controversial TV show has left people scratching their heads with one particular question.

Channel 4’s Virgin Island came to an explosive end on 27 May, and it's certainly got people talking.

The show, which followed a dozen virgins aged 22 to 30 as they explored intimacy and overcame personal and sexual barriers at a luxury resort in Croatia, delivered one final twist.

One contestant actually lost his virginity on camera.

That contestant was 24-year-old accountant Dave, who had been building a bond throughout the series with his surrogate partner and sex therapist, Kat Slade.

In the final episode, Dave entered the show’s infamous “zen den” with Kat for their final therapy session - and it got steamy.

Although Channel 4 didn’t show any explicit scenes, viewers could hear what was happening: breathing, groaning, and a climax that was, well, unmistakable.

The footage cut to picturesque shots of the island before returning to Dave and Kat in bed, calmly debriefing the experience.

Kat reflected on the moment in a confessional, saying: “I feel good about being the person with him at that important moment.”

Dave added: “I am proud I can finally say I am not a virgin anymore.

"I have a lot of catching up to do but I feel like I am on the board now. Now I can go and properly progress with some idea of what I am doing.

“The fact I am no longer a virgin is great, it's such a relief.”

The moment left Virgin Island viewers reeling. Many flooded social media with reactions ranging from shock to full-on support.

"Dave's only gone and done it," one viewer posted.

Another wrote: "BEEN ROOTING FOR THIS GUY."

Given that the series raised some eyebrows, people have started asking a fairly surprising question.

And that question is: When is the next series coming out?

“Wonder if this gets a second series #VirginIsland,” one viewer tweeted.

“It would be good to see how everyone is getting on 3 months from now,” said another.

"If there isn’t another series of this I will be extremely disappointed," a third chimed in. "I thought it would just be a laugh but actually it’s been weirdly interesting."

While Dave was the only one to lose his virginity during filming, the adventure didn’t end when the cameras stopped rolling.

Since leaving Virgin Island, Dave has been in a relationship for six months.

The show’s participants reportedly kept in touch through a group chat where they shared updates on their post-island experiences, per the Sun.
