Man forced to watch his girlfriend cheat on him in bizarre reality TV show

Viewers of Temptation Island have been left stunned once again after a viral clip from the Spanish version showed a contestant watching his girlfriend get intimate with another man, as they touched and canoodled in a hot tub.

It's one thing to have the unfortunate viewing of an ex-partner on a dating show, but it's a whole other story when you're still meant to be very much together, as those contestants on Temptation Island frequently discover.

The dating show originally debuted in the US on USA Network in 2019 before later finding a wider audience when Netflix picked it up in 2025.

Now, renewed interest in the Spanish edition has brought back memories of one of the most talked-about moments from the first season.

The infamous Casey and Ashley, and Jose and Anita sagas

Often described by fans as 'trash TV gold,' the series follows couples who agree to test the commitment in their relationships by living separately in villas filled with single contestants, all while trying to stay faithful to their significant other.

One of the most infamous storylines involved Jose Montoya and his girlfriend Anita Williams, with the former being shown a live clip of his girlfriend having sex with another man.

A visibly distraught Jose then proceeds to sprint down the beach towards the villa, as the television host calls for him to return by shouting: "Montoya, por favor!"

The other involved Casey and his girlfriend, Ashley Howland, who had been together for around a year and a half before joining the show.

Things took a dramatic turn when Ashley went on a date that ultimately led to her sleeping with another contestant.

Casey was then shown footage of the encounter during a bonfire segment, leaving him visibly emotional and shocking the other men watching alongside him, as he watched the ultimate betrayal play out in front of him.

Social media's dramatic response

The moment quickly spread online, with viewers reacting in disbelief.

One person wrote: “This show is so sick bra wtf you making a man watch his girl get d***ed down like this… the reactions from the other gents are killing me.”

Others leaned into the chaos, with one fan posting: “Temptation Island is trash reality TV gold. I love this show.”

Another added: “Temptation island a wild ass show,” while someone else agreed: “Temptation Island be wildin.”

Recalling the season, one viewer commented: “His season was the best because homeboy was down BAD they caught him crying in the shower and everything.”
