There are plenty of casting decisions for great movies that have caused many people to go: "Huh? That guy?" - And often long before the movie's release.
The biggest example has probably got to be Heath Ledger, the Australian heartthrob best known for A Knight's Tale and 10 Things I Hate About You, before he was cast as The Joker in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. At the time, everyone thought it was a massive miscast. Then the film came out, and now Ledger is regarded as one of the best actors to ever play the Crown Prince of Crime.
Now it appears as though history is about to repeat itself. Yes, if rumours are to be believed then the new Batman film, written and directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) will star none other than Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne.

For example, one petition (currently boasting 667 signatures as of this writing) states: "Don't make the Batfleck mistake again. Don't do it. For the love of all that is holy, stop trashing the DC Universe."
However, not everyone is so pessimistic.
