Netflix viewers have been left feeling uncomfortable by an X-rated series with extremely graphic scenes.

Supersex, written and created by Italian screenwriter Francesca Manieri, has shocked viewers ever since it was released back in March.

The series is inspired by the life led by the notorious Italian porn star Rocco Siffredi, and even just hearing the premise of the show, you can imagine that things really got wild. For those of you who might not be familiar with the name (but I'm sure you probably are, right?)

Siffredi has starred in over 1,300 adult movies over the span of his career, and though things have slowed down a little for him at 60, he still dabbles in the production side of things. One of Netflix's most graphic shows is based on the life of Rocco Siffredi.

As per its official IMDb description, the show follows "Siffredi's family, his origins, his relationship, and the context that led him to embark on his path in pornography and accept that the demon in his body is compatible with love."

But social media users were left baffled after seeing some of the extremely graphic scenes, branding the entire thing as straight "porn."

Things got so bad that a clip of the controversial show was shared on Netflix's official Instagram and quickly deleted due to the intense backlash it received. Supersex has received a mixed reaction from fans.

"Now we have porn on Netflix as well? Canceling the account while we speak, my kids can’t see this," wrote one horrified user, while another added: "Are we just making porn mainstream now? It’s pretty sickening that there is no warning on explicit content like this. Yet women who post a picture breastfeeding are flagged. This should be a separate category on Netflix if you want to put stuff like this out."

A third also chimed in on the conversation, commenting, "It’s really sad that this is accepted in modern culture. The hyper-sexualisation of our society and generation is depressing and degrading to the value of both genders.

Over on X, many were also put off by the intense nature of it. "New show on Netflix. Supersex. I lasted 2 minutes. If you're into porn, you'll like it. Not me," this user commented.

And this user pointed out that beyond the graphic parts, it was also "miserable."

"I’m watching #supersex on @netflix and it has to be one of the most miserable shows I’ve ever seen. Omfg. Everybody is either sad, depressed, dying, or fighting with a spouse. Even when they happy or celebrating they saying depressive s*** to each other."

Netflix subscribers have been threatening to cancel their accounts after the streamer released a seriously X-rated series about the world's most famous adult star.

The streaming giant released Supersex, written and created by Italian screenwriter Francesca Manieri, on March 6, charting the life led by the notorious Italian porn star Rocco Siffredi.

Given that the 59-year-old starred in over 1,300 adult movies over the course of his career, still dabbling in the production side to this day, it should come as no surprise that the series is pretty explicit itself - so much so that some subscribers have threatened to cancel their accounts over it.

According to the official IMDb description, the show follows "Siffredi's family, his origins, his relationship, and the context that led him to embark on his path in pornography and accept that the demon in his body is compatible with love."

The cast includes Alessandro Borghi playing Siffredi as well as Jasmine Trinca, Linda Hardy, and David Kammenos on the lineup.

Since the series dropped on Netflix, it has elicited a pretty strong reaction - with some wanting to boycott the streamer for sharing such X-rated content.

After Netflix shared a pretty graphic clip on Instagram, many followers took to the comments to share their anger, writing: "I don't appreciate this content popping up as soon as I opened Instagram. My kids are with me and saw this, not okay. This makes me reconsider supporting Netflix."

Others added: "Now we have porn on netflix as well? Cancelling account while we speak, my kids can't see this," and: "i’m sorry what??? children literally follow netflix."

One wrote: "Time to unfollow Netflix," while someone else added: "WTF!!! @netflix I just saw my 11 year old browsing through Netflix he stopped at this supersex and was just watching the nonsense since when did @netflix start showing porn? @netflix you just lost a customer."

Another simply commented: "Unfollowed. canceling account tomorrow morning!" "

Supersex is not the first time Netflix has pushed the boundary with their content about the adult industry, as it previously released Money Shot: The Pornhub Story last year and its infamous trilogy, 365 Days.

However, it seems this particular series might be a little too far for certain subscribers - particularly when it popped up on their Instagram feed as the first post they saw when they opened the app.

Others appear to be enjoying it as it has an 86 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes for its "loose" portrayal of the infamous porn star's life.

While Siffredi himself shot over 1,300 movies in his time, Borghi - who plays him in the series - also had to film 50 sex scenes in just 95 days while shooting, according to Italian news outlet Today.

The series has been rated 18+, for obvious reasons.

Viewers have been left speechless after watching Netflix's "most explicit movie ever," which reportedly has "absolutely disgusting" scenes.

The streaming service recently added the coming-of-age film, Y Tu Mamá También (2001), a critically acclaimed Mexican film directed by Alfonso Cuarón.

The movie follows the friendship between two teenage boys named Tenoch (Diego Luna) and Julio (Gael García Bernal) as they come to the end of high school and start to think about what's next.

With their girlfriends off to spend their summer in Europe, the two boys meet Luisa (Maribel Verdú), an older woman, and invite her to join them on a road trip from Mexico City to a paradisiacal beach in Oaxaca.

To their surprise, she says yes. What begins as a carefree journey quickly turns into something more, as the trio forms unexpected emotional and personal connections.

Online Reactions To The "Explicit" Movie

The movie, which has been dubbed "the original Challengers," has divided audiences due to its graphic content, including steamy threesomes, emotional tension, and themes of sexual discovery.

Some viewers were clearly caught off guard, as according to TVF, one user called it an "absolutely disgusting movie," while another reacted: "Wtf is this doing on Netflix. I can't imagine what it would do to the sensibilities of unsuspecting families opening it for a mindless Sunday viewing."

A third user on X quipped: "Just watched Y Tu Mama Tambien for the first time. Expected it to be the horniest movie I’d ever seen and it was somehow even more horny than that."

However, not everyone was displeased, as one person praised: "Watched y tu mamá también last night god that was so incredible so good."

A second added: "Can't believe I've only just watched Y tu mamá también. A masterpiece !"

Controversy, Ratings, and Critical Success

The movie originally received an NC-17 rating in the United States and was given an 18+ rating in Mexico - a decision the filmmakers famously pushed back on in court.

Despite the controversy, the film earned strong critical acclaim, scoring an impressive 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and getting rave reviews from critics.

In an interview with The New York Times, director Alfonso Cuarón explained the intention behind the film’s explicit scenes: "We wanted the sex scenes to get a point across about these characters and about the social elements we were playing with, like class and the conceptions of masculinity that these characters have."

His brother, Carlos, who helped write the movie, added: "That portrait of adolescence with its failures and virtues, the narrator who doesn’t narrate but contextualizes things and helped us avoid explanatory scenes, the enormous chemistry between Diego and Gael and the counterpoint that Maribel provided were some of the many factors.

"None of us who made it thought it would have such success. When we wrote the screenplay, we didn’t know who would dare make it," he said.

Netflix viewers are threatening to cancel their subscriptions after watching a controversial series dubbed the "raunchiest" show in the streamer’s history.

The show, Supersex, landed on the streaming giant in 2024 and sparked outrage online thanks to its explicit content.

The seven-part series, inspired by true events, follows the life of Rocco Siffredi, a famous adult film star.

Backlash Over Show

The series left many viewers divided, with some taking to social media to admit that they couldn’t even make it through an episode.

One viewer wrote: "Supersex is horrendous and Netflix confirms itself as a repository of rubbish," per The Sun.

A second added: "Supersex is the most useless thing Netflix could produce. We talk about feminicide, sexual education, the objectification of women and then we do a series on sick and violent porn. It truly left me with an unprecedented sadness."

The fury intensified after Netflix allegedly shared a now-deleted explicit clip of the show on Instagram.

"Are we just making p*rn mainstream now? It’s pretty sickening that there is no warning on explicit content like this," one user raged, Daily Mail reported.

"Yet women who post a picture breastfeeding are flagged. This should be a separate category on Netflix if you want to put stuff like this out," another commented.

Inside The Netflix Series

Supersex tells the story of Siffredi, who is described as the "Italian stallion", and explores his entry into the adult film industry in 1986.

A synopsis reads: "Inspired by true events, this is the story of how Rocco Siffredi escaped a humble life and emerged as the world’s greatest p*rn star."

The series stars Alessandro Borghi in the lead role, alongside Saul Nanni, Jasmine Trinca and Vincenzo Nemolato.

Borghi described the project as "absolutely the most complicated thing I’ve ever made in my life," admitting: "I was not really sure [about representing] that kind of complex issue, especially in my country. You can talk about everything you want in Italy, but not about sex," per The Independent.

He also reflected on the themes explored in the show, saying: “I really grew up with p*rn. It was my sexual education.”

Despite the backlash, creator Francesca Manieri has defended the series. "My goal was to put men in front of themselves," she said. "This is what we call the phallocentric system, the system in which the d*** is the centrum of the thought before everything."

"So what can you do right now, [in] 2024, to understand the relationship between men and women? And how can men put themselves in front of the image of their symbolic d*** and try to deconstruct all of this?" she added.

Supersex is available now on Netflix.
