Fans have tracked down the moment a Peloton instructor ripped into one of Christopher Nolan's movies... while he was taking her class!

Christopher Nolan - the renowned director of movies like Inception and The Dark Knight Trilogy - recently shared a humorous anecdote during his acceptance speech for the Best Director award from the New York Film Critics Circle.

While acknowledging that directors often face criticism from professional film reviewers on Wednesday, Nolan recounted a surprising encounter with critique during an unlikely setting — his Peloton workout.

In his acceptance speech, per The Hollywood Reporter, Nolan humorously recalled the incident, saying: "I was on my Peloton doing a high-interval workout. I’m dying… The instructor started talking about one of my films and said, ‘Has anyone else seen this? Because that’s a couple of hours of my life I’ll never get back again.’"

The film in question was Nolan's 2020 blockbuster Tenet.

Intriguingly, a video clip capturing the Peloton instructor's candid commentary on Tenet during the 2020 workout class has now surfaced on the internet. Check it out below:

In the clip, the instructor, named Jenn, quips: "This song is from the soundtrack of a movie called Tenet. Did anybody see this s**t? Did anybody see this beside me? Because I need a manual.

"That's two and a half hours of my life I want back."

After the video gained attention online, Jenn - the Peloton instructor in question - took to social media to respond to the unearthed clip.

In an Instagram post, she explained: "It was 2020, it was a dark time... I'm running my mouth off like I'm known to do and I make a random comment about a movie I'd seen the night before."

She further joked about her limited understanding of Tenet, but expressed her appreciation for Nolan's other work.

Remarkably, Jenn also extended an invitation to Nolan to retake one of her classes, assuring him that he could provide critiques without fear of insult.

She said: "I may not have understood a minute of what the hell was going on in Tenet, but I have watched Oppenheimer twice, and that's six hours of my life I don't ever want to get back."

During his appearance at the New York Film Critics Circle event, Nolan touched on the complex relationship between directors and critics.

While acknowledging the importance of film criticism in the industry, he injected humor into the conversation by contrasting film criticism with other forms of critique. "When [film critic] Rex Reed takes a s**t on your film, he doesn’t ask you to work out," Nolan quipped.

The famed director also emphasized that while opinions about films are abundant in today's digital age, the art of film criticism should remain a respected profession.
