The cast of Home Alone is set to reunite 31 years after the original film's release.

Devin Ratray - who famously played Kevin McCallister's mean big brother Buzz in the Christmas movie - let slip on Tuesday, December 7, that the ensemble cast is planning a virtual reunion.

However, stars Macaulay Culkin, Kieran Culkin, and Catherine O'Hara won't be attending the event.

Chris Columbus's beloved festive flick Home Alone came out in 1990 and became an instant classic.

The movie - in which cherub-faced eight-year-old Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) must defend his family home from burglars after being accidentally left behind over the holidays - amassed $476.7 million at the box office and spawned five sequels.

And it turns out the McCallister family are closer than ever, with Ratray, 44, revealing to People that they're planning a reunion.

"They have been planning a reunion online and I just recently, as in a couple of days ago, got on their messenger chat thread," he said.

He explained: "I have been trying to keep up with Jed Cohen [Rod McCallister], Diana Rein [Sondra McCallister], Terrie Snell [Aunt Leslie], Angela Goethals [Linnie McCallister], and Hillary Wolf [Megan McCallister]."

"The family is moving on their own accord to get together, so who knows what's going to happen in the future," he added.

While many of the original family members will be linking up, Ratray did share that there would be a few notable absences - namely Macaulay who starred as Kevin, his younger brother Kieran who played a bespectacled cousin, and O'Hara who portrayed the McCallister matriarch.

However, Ratray had nothing but kind words for his former co-stars, praising Macaulay and Kieran Culkin for their success.

Macaulay Culkin, now 41, recently welcomed his first child with actress Brenda Song.

Kieran Culkin, meanwhile, has found fame starring in HBO's hit series Succession.

Ratray also had warm words for his former on-screen mother, the Schitt's Creek star Catherine O'Hara, who he called "one of the nicest, sweetest, kindest people."

After appearing in many of the Home Alone sequels, Ratray most recently reprised his role of Buzz McCallister for the sixth installment - Home Sweet Home Alone - which debuted on Disney Plus in November.

And although the cast may be staging their reunion virtually, anyone wishing to experience Christmas in the original Home Alone mansion in Illinois can request to book a $25 stay via Airbnb, with Ratray serving as their official host.
