A new movie to land on Amazon Prime has got the whole of social media talking - and let's just say, we've been left a little speechless after witnessing this one.

Saltburn hit our screens last week and follows the story of a student at Oxford University who "finds himself drawn into the world of a charming and aristocratic classmate, who invites him to his eccentric family's sprawling estate for a summer never to be forgotten."

While the premise might sound like a whimsical and fun rom-com, that couldn't be further from the truth.

Although this movie contains some visually beautiful scenes, it also contains some extremely provocative ones, and social media users can't help but focus on the latter.

The rest of this article contains spoilers for Saltburn - so turn away now if you haven't seen it...

One moment in particular is causing a pretty wild stir online - the now infamous "bathtub scene."

"Uuum…I was 48 minutes into #Saltburn wondering what the fuss was all about…and then the bath scene happened," wrote one user on X (formerly known as Twitter).

"That bathtub scene made me so uncomfortable and I loved it. #Saltburn," added another user.

"I genuinely almost threw up on the bath scene in Saltburn. I thought I wasn't gonna be able to finish it," a third stated.

Others also referred to it as "horrifying" and "disgusting" and you're about to find out why.

The scene in question involves a man named Oliver (played by Barry Keoghan) hopping in the bath after secretly watching Felix (played by Jacob Elordi) pleasure himself in there, only to end up drinking the remaining bath water directly from the tub.

And I'm not just talking about scooping up the water and taking some little sips - although that would be weird enough - but I'm referring to the idea that he literally bent down and slurped up the remaining drops of bathwater as it disappeared down the drain.

Just to make matters worse, he also tried to shove his tongue down the gaps of the drain and slurp up the last few drops of whatever he thought he needed - gross is an understatement at this point.

After the scene went viral, Prime also tweeted about it, taking a still from the movie and hilariously captioning it "Boy dinner."

If you've never heard of the trend "Girl dinner", it is a fad online where women share their strange cravings for their dinners. Sometimes it involves dry pasta or Caesar salad and chips and sometimes even just a glass of fizz - but it's a whole different (and better) world than "boy dinner" that's for sure.

Oliver's obsession with Felix only continues to get more disturbing as there's another scene after Felix dies where Oliver goes and visits his grave and while he's mourning, he starts to get undressed.

Then slowly, he starts thrusting on the grave while still sobbing about the loss of his muse.

I mean, does it get any creepier? I think not.

Strangely enough, the shocking moment wasn’t even planned, according to the actor, but he felt as though it was right for the script.

"On paper, he wasn’t written to do that," Keoghan told Variety in an interview. "But I wanted to see what actually happened, where I would take it. I wanted to be confused and let my body lead the way. What am I doing? How can I get closer?"

Mission accomplished, I guess. But at what cost? Because there isn't enough holy water in the world to take me back to my innocence before I watched Saltburn.

I'd highly recommend it though.

Saltburn is now available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
