Jason Momoa spoke about his relationship with Lisa Bonet for the first time since the pair announced their divorce.
After 16 years together, two children, and five years of marriage, Momoa confirmed his divorce from Bonet back in January.
During an interview at the New York City premiere of The Batman, which stars Bonet's daughter from a previous relationship Zoe Kravitz, Momoa told Entertainment Tonight that he and his two children came to support Kravitz because her mother could not attend.
"We're just so proud," he said. "Lisa couldn't be here so we're representing, me and the babies. We're very excited to just be here ... It's still family, you know?"
Ahead of the premiere, Momoa also shared an Instagram post of himself and Channing Tatum, who is currently dating Kravitz, and said the pair were on the way to support "our Zozo", an affectionate nickname for Kravitz.
His gracious gesture comes after a close friend of Momoa's claimed the pair are giving their marriage another go.
The Aquaman star's close friend told Hollywood Life that "Jason moved back in with Lisa about two weeks ago and they are very much back together".
"They decided to work on things rather than throw in the towel because they have so much invested in each other," the source added.
The source explained that the couple's two teenage children are "absolutely thrilled" that their parents are repairing their marriage and family. "Everyone is really hoping that they can make this work this time around," the source added.
Back in January, Momoa posted a message on Instagram on behalf of him and Bonet, as she does not have a social media presence.
"We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times," Momoa wrote. "A revolution is unfolding ~and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring."
"And so ~ We share our family news: That we are parting ways in marriage. We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy ~ but so that~ as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty."
"Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life & our Children," he added.
Momoa, 42, and Bonet, 54, married in October 2017 after dating for more than a decade. It was the first marriage for Momoa and the second for Bonet who had been married to rockstar Lenny Kravitz from 1987 to 1993.
Their statement stressed they were separating to set a good example for their kids.
"The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived," the statement continued. "We free each other ~ to be who we are learning to become… our devotion unwavering to this sacred life and our Children."
The joint statement was signed "J & L" with the valediction: "Teaching our Children What’s possible ~ Living the Prayer ... May Love Prevail."
