Jay-Z has given a brutally honest response to Beyoncé losing Album of the Year to Harry Styles at this year's Grammys, the fourth time she's lost the coveted award.

Despite making history as the artist with the most Grammy awards - of which she has 32 in total - Beyoncé's loss to Harry has been deemed a major upset.

The 41-year-old singer has lost thrice previously - I Am... Sasha Fierce lost to Taylor Swift's Fearless in 2010, her self-titled Beyoncé album lost to Beck's Morning Phase in 2015, and Lemonade lost to Adele's 25 in 2017.

Fortunately, Beyoncé's husband - fellow musician Jay-Z - has been there to support her.

The 53-year-old '99 Problems' rapper was asked by Tidal why he believed Beyoncé was deserving of the Album of the Year award, to which he replied: "Look what it's done to the culture. Look how the energy of the world moved. They play her whole album in the club. I don't know if I've ever seen that. The whole entire joint - like, everything?! Every remix is amazing. Everyone's inspired. It has inspired the world. Every remix is better than the other one.

"It's inspiring creativity," he added. "When it just inspires creativity, that's an album. That has to be Album of the Year. It has to be."

He also discussed Queen Bey's previous Album of the Year losses, saying that people simply weren't ready for them and that they were ahead of their time. "Even with Bey, I felt like they missed the moment. Not just Lemonade; [also] when Beck won over her [for Album of the Year at the 2015 show]. I was like, 'Oh, y'all missed it.'

"For the culture, I love this s**t so much I want them to get it right. I want to experience those moments when it's the culmination of when Michael popped off," he said. "That moment left an indelible mark on us forever. Or when Lauryn Hill came through and it was Miseducation and she won those joints [five Grammy Awards in 1999]. We knew that was her moment. We wanted to witness that moment and celebrate her. She made something that's going to stand the test of time."

Many Beyoncé fans have taken to social media to comment on why they believe that she was robbed of a 33rd Grammy, with one person tweeting: "harry styles' album wasn't bad but winning album of the year over beyoncé, adele, kendrick lamar, and bad bunny is ridiculous to me lmao. grammys really manage to do this every year."

"Beyoncé was robbed. This was so underwhelming. People are leaving by the masses," another comment read.
