Despite trademarking Star Yak Ranch butchering, Jeffree Star insists the only thing he's going to do with his newly-acquired herd of yaks is "brushing them, loving them, and feeding them."
Taking to social media earlier this week, the controversial makeup mogul said that he had been building his very own Star Yak Ranch, which he filed to trademark through his Wyoming-based LLC on August 4.
Public filings show the beauty YouTuber's new self-titled LLC in Wyoming filed to trademark Star Yak Ranch across several categories related to farming and agriculture, per Insider.
Tibetan yaks are originally found in the Himalayas that can be farmed for a variety of purposes, including yarn made from yak fur and a variety of edible items like yak meat.
Star's LLC filed to trademark Star Yak Ranch in categories including clothing, edible pet treats, and butchering services.
Naturally, fans were quick to question Star's intentions with the yaks, especially after seeing him file trademarks for butchering.
Shutting down concerns on his Snapchat Story, the beauty mogul - whose makeup brand is vegan and cruelty-free - called his yaks "majestic creatures."
"We've been filming so much stuff the last month, from the very first yak getting there until right now," Star said in the clip. "Having a ranch has been so fulfilling. It's actually something I've dreamed about since I was little."
Star said the move was to protect himself from people using his trademark in those categories.
He went on: "So let's say I trademark it for yarn, cheese, breeding, butchering, et cetera, it doesn't mean I'm doing any of those things.
"When I'm laying on a yak and I'm naming them, nothing is happening except brushing them, loving them, and feeding them."
Star has switched up his high-glamour lifestyle for more of a lowkey approach to life.
Star has decided to sell his $20 million LA mansion, and move full-time into his established residency in Casper, Wyoming, a city of 58,000 where he snapped up a $1.1 million ranch.
He's traded in his famous bright pink mansion, with its luxury closet and designer purse vault, for over 500 acres of land with more than 40 yaks.
Star was at the peak of his popularity in November 2019, when he and now-disgraced YouTuber Shane Dawson sold out of their conspiracy-themed makeup collection.
In the past, Star's name was also plagued by racism and sexual assault allegations, which saw him lose most of his influencer allies.
Despite his controversial past, it seems as though Star has settled in nicely in the little town of Casper, Wyoming.
Star has posted nearly two dozen pictures of his yak herd on social media, oftentimes cuddling up to them, but he hasn't made clear what his purpose is for raising yaks.
He has also warned locals and fans alike to stay away from Star Yak Ranch, which is not open to the public. Star, who poses frequently with weapons, wrote online that trespassers will be shot.
