Jennifer Aniston has reacted to the adorable footage of Brad Pitt watching her from backstage at the SAG Awards.

The footage was filmed at the ceremony which saw Aniston win the SAG trophy for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama on The Morning Show.

However, Pitt didn't go home empty-handed either, and he won the award for outstanding performance by a male actor for his part as a slacker stuntman in Once Upon a time… in Hollywood.

"Let's be honest, it was a difficult part, " Pitt, 56, joked while delivering his acceptance speech. "The guy who gets high, takes his shirt off and doesn't get on with his wife. It's a big stretch. Big."

Rumors of a possible reconciliation between the pair have been swirling for a while now, and last night did nothing to quell them, with Pitt looking genuinely happy for Anison as she accepted her award.

Aniston was later informed that her ex-husband had been intently watching her acceptance speech by Extra.

"That's so sweet," Aniston said. "It's just, we've all grown up together, we really have and it just feels like a really fun night to celebrate and, you know, cheer each other on and keep working."

Discussing her famous showbiz colleagues, Aniston said: "There are dark hours... or, not dark hours, but you don't really have that much of a life. So it's nice to come out, put a pretty dress on and sort of celebrate your friends and their work and inspire each other to keep going."

Earlier this month, Pitt described his ex-wife as a "good friend". "I'll run into Jen, she's a good friend. Yeah," Pitt said on the 2020 Golden Globes red carpet, as per Fox News.

However, while the pair might be nothing more than good friends, their performance last night had many social media users pleading for them to reunite.

"This is one of the most ridiculous things to fan girl over, but I can't help it. I need more," one user said of the hand-holding that's got the world talking.

"I never thought I'd root for Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt to get back together but..." a second person joked.

"These are the pop culture moments we live and wait for! #BradPitt and #JenniferAniston supporting each other and sharing a moment at the #SAGAwards!" a third wrote.

But not everyone was in favor of these exes reuniting and a fourth user wrote: "Y'all need to let this Brad pitt and Jennifer Aniston thing GO. She seems perfectly fine on her own and did we forget he CHEATED on her? Y'all have some issues."

A fifth concurred writing: "So I guess everyone is gonna act like Brad Pitt didn't cheat on Jennifer Aniston. #SAGAwards Quote Tweet."

Regardless, we think it's great that the two are clearly, if nothing else, good friends.
