Celebrities are constantly in the glare of the public eye, with very little of their seemingly ever truly played out in private.
As such, a common phenomenon has emerged in recent times, which sees people speculating about whether or not someone is with child, especially if they're a celebrity.
Now, Jennifer Garner has responded to speculation that she is expecting her fourth child after posting a Halloween picture that some interpreted as a pregnancy reveal.
Garner tells Ellen that she once didn't trust a pregnancy test in 2018:The picture in question features a baby pumpkin inside a larger pumpkin, and in the picture, Garner is sitting down with the pumpkins against her chest.
Alongside three pumpkin emoji, she wrote: "When you and your jack-o'-lantern share a vibe…"
After posting the snap just 19 hours ago at the time of writing, the actress was inundated with comments asking if she was pregnant.
One Instagram user wrote: "Wait....are you pregnant or is this something from back when someone posted a pic and thought you were but it was quarantine weight?! Please say you are!!! [sic]"
Another asked alongside pregnancy-related emoji: "Um.....does this mean there is a little Jennifer behind that pumpkin? [sic]"
However, not everyone interpreted the picture as a pregnancy announcement, and one Instagram user urged Garner's fans to calm down.
They wrote: "Calm down people. It's a pumpkin quarantined in his little pumpkin house."
The pregnancy speculation did not go unnoticed by Garner who subsequently responded in the comments section to say that she didn't realize that it looked like a pregnancy announcement prior to posting.
"STILL NOT HAVING MORE BABIES," Garner wrote in a reply. "Good grief, I didn't even see it, I just saw matching smiles."
This is not the first time that Garner has had to confirm that she's not pregnant on Instagram. The same thing happened last month when she replied to another Instagram comment saying that she "is not and never will be" pregnant.
"I am 48, have three healthy kids, and am not - and never will be - pregnant," she wrote. "We can lay that pupper to rest."
