Jennifer Lawrence has opened up about her "intrusive thoughts" after becoming a mother for the first time.

On Monday, Interview magazine published a conversation between the 33-year-old actress and make-up mogul Kylie Jenner where the two stars discussed a plethora of different topics including their personal lives.

During the exchange, Lawrence opened up about about expanding her security team after welcoming her one-year-old son, Cy with her husband Cooke Maroney.

"I didn’t have that much security before I had a kid but, once I had one, with my intrusive thoughts and anxiety, I wanted us to have security around all the time," she said.

The Hunger Games alum explained she initially wanted her security team to feel "invisible" around her son, but to her surprise, she soon changed her mind about that appraoch.

"Once they start working for you, it’s like, 'Well, wait. This is a person in our life. He’s helping us,'" Lawrence continued. "That’s not really a good lesson to ignore the person that’s helping us. It’s probably better to say, 'Say good morning to Sean. Hi. How are you?'

"We’ve incorporated them more in our lives, which surprised me," she added. "That wasn’t how I planned it."

Lawrence welcomed her son back in 2022 after taking a break away from acting.

While the 33-year-old was pretty private about her child as well as her relationship with Maroney, who is an art gallery director, in recent times she's been more open about the trials and tribulations of motherhood.

Speaking to Vogue back in September 2022, Lawrence revealed that she finds it "scary" to "talk about motherhood."

"It’s so scary to talk about motherhood," she told the outlet. "Only because it’s so different for everybody. If I say, It was amazing from the start, some people will think, 'It wasn’t amazing for me at first,' and feel bad."

The Silver Linings Playbook star then added: "Fortunately I have so many girlfriends who were honest. Who were like, 'It’s scary. You might not connect right away. You might not fall in love right away.' So I felt so prepared to be forgiving.

"I remember walking with one of my best friends at, like, nine months, and being like, Everyone keeps saying that I will love my baby more than my cat. But that’s not true. Maybe I’ll love him as much as my cat?" she recalled.

Elsewhere, she also discussed the overwhelming amount of love she felt for her firstborn.

Even when he would do little things, like try new foods, she would be overcome with emotions.

Referring to him as a "daily miracle", as well as her own "voodoo doll" (because anything that hurts him also hurts her), she said: "I mean the euphoria of Cy is just - Jesus, it’s impossible. I always tell him, I love you so much it’s impossible."
