Johnny Depp has been caught smirking at Amber Heard's lawyer when she attempted to do an impression of him.
The Hollywood star clearly wasn't all that impressed by the attorney's acting skills, as she tried to mimic his voice when asking his ex-wife Amber Heard about a tape he had spoken on.
Depp and Heard are currently embroiled in a blockbuster defamation trial, with the former suing the latter over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star claims he was the real victim in their tumultuous marriage and that Heard's allegations wrecked his reputation and his career. Heard, meanwhile, is countersuing her ex-husband for $100 million, citing multiple occasions when he allegedly assaulted her during their relationship.
Over the past few weeks, the trial has seen both parties give emotional testimonies in which they accuse one another of physically abusive behavior.
But it hasn't all been tears in the Virginia courtroom; Depp has often been caught chuckling to himself and seems to have found certain moments of the legal proceedings pretty amusing.
As the trial enters its fifth week, it looks like the Edward Scissorhands star still hasn't lost his sense of humor.
After a lengthy, tearful testimony, Heard's attorney Elaine Bredehoft asked her client why she thought Depp had struggled to look her in the eye while she had been on the witness stand. To demonstrate what she meant, Bredehoft threw in a quick impression of the actor, quoting an audio recording of him saying: "You won't see my eyes again".
The impersonation clearly tickled Depp, who was caught on the court camera smirking to himself.
Heard, meanwhile, gave her opinion on why her ex-husband had not been meeting her eye, telling the court: "Because he’s guilty. He knows he’s lying. Why can’t he look at me? I survived that man and I’m here and I’m able to look at him."
This is not the first time that Depp has been caught giggling at Heard's attorneys. Last month, he was spotted snickering with his team after his ex-wife's lawyer Ben Rottenborn mistakenly object to his own question.
