Katy Perry has spoken out about yesterday's coronation event after she went viral for an awkward seating blunder.

On May 6, King Charles III was formally crowned the King of the United Kingdom at Westminster Abbey, and the occasion played host to some incredible moments.

While it seems as though a lot of royal fans were more focused on the big displays of pomp and circumstance throughout the day - such as including the anointment ceremony as well as The Coronation Procession back at Buckingham Palace - some social media users found their fun in other more lighthearted moments throughout the day.

Amongst those was Katy Perry, who left fans in hysterics after she was spotted by viewers unable to find her seat inside Westminster Abbey.

For those of you that might have missed the iconic moment, have a look at the video below:

The clip, which was reposted to Twitter by the popular news entertainment account Pop Base, shows the 38-year-old helplessly looking around for her designated seat as others just sit and watch her.

In the footage, you can see the 'Part of Me' singer trying to look over her headwear, a beautiful yet impractical choice for the occasion, as she tried to figure out where she was going.

After a couple more seconds, she starts walking in a different direction, hopefully to her seat.

The moment garnered millions of views online, with many asking the big question: Did she actually manage to find her seat in the end?

Well, good news guys, because Perry has now taken to the social media platform to share the conclusion for herself.

On May 6, after the event, the American Idol judge tweeted: "Don't worry guys, I found my seat" - much to the amusement of fans.

Hundreds of fans took to the comments to make light of the situation, while some even thanked her for giving us all a moment to remember.

"You are the biggest event of this coronation," wrote one user.

Another joked: "It should’ve been the throne but I don't know what happened."

A third also chimed in saying: "No but each time that happens to me I’ll be thinking about Katy’s moments at the coronation."

And this user wrote: "Found your seat? Phew, we were worried you'd be stuck in an endless loop of musical chairs! Just don't forget where you parked it next time!"

Perry is one of two Americans performing at Sunday night's coronation concert, thanks to the wishes of King Charles III.

Despite seeming worlds apart, the singer and the newly crowned King go way back, first meeting during an event in Mumbai in 2019, before the monarch went on to appoint Perry as an ambassador for the British Asian Trust a year later.

While there was controversy surrounding the singer's position for the charity - as she was neither British nor Asian - Charles stayed firm with his decision as he believed that Perry was the right candidate for the job.

Speaking of her friendship with the 74-year-old during her introduction to the charity prior to her performance, she described him as a "very kind soul," also adding he had jokingly asked her if she "could sing to his plants" to which she replied: "And I will, in the future, you have my word, Sir."
