Machine Gun Kelly certainly knows how to celebrate his birthday in style - even if the police may not agree.

The rapper and pop punk star threw a party at his home this week to celebrate his 33rd birthday - which takes place on Saturday - as well as 4/20.

He held the gathering at his Los Angeles home which he bought from YouTuber-turned-WWE star Logan Paul for $7.5 million last year.

However, his party ended up being cut short after police arrived in a helicopter to tell the star his guests needed to disperse.

MGK - real name Colson Baker - shared a video on Instagram showing him holding a flame thrower as police could be heard telling him over a megaphone: "Party’s over,” and “You guys need to leave”.

He captioned the clip: "I just told some people to come over."

The flamethrower he was wielding turned out to be a gift from comedian Whitney Cummings, as he later shared a clip of him taking the still-flaming device into his home as he joked: "Thanks for the gift @whitneycummings clearly I’m responsible enough to have one of these."

She shared the video on her own Instagram story, adding: "Say what you want about me but I do give amazing gifts. Flame thrower courtesy of yours truly. I can’t tell if I’m your best friend or worst enemy."

It goes without saying - don't try this at home, kids...

Also in attendance at the party was Logan Paul's best friend and Impaulsive podcast co-host Mike Majlak, 38, who admitted it was "surreal being back at 'his' house", but said he loved what MGK had done with the place.

He shared a snap of a living room in the property which had been decked out in patterned wallpaper with a pink animal print couch sectioned off with a velvet rope to resemble a VIP area.

A fire pit was also covered in pink velvet while guitars were displayed on stands and a neon sign proclaimed MGK's slogan of "I am weed".

While the party appeared to be attended by a vast group of MGK's friends, it's not known if his on-off fiancée Megan Fox, 36, was in attendance as she did not appear in any of the photos or videos from the night.

The musician also showed off his three pink birthday cakes - on which he lit the candles with the flamethrower, of course - which had pictures of the faces of his three cats on the top, and icing writing "happy birthday dad".

Other videos from the night also showed him encouraging his guests to take a plunge in his outdoor ice bath - which was probably a nice way to cool down after the flame thrower antics.

Fans compared the wild night to the film Project X, which was released in 2012 and showed Thomas Mann's character throwing a massive house party which got seriously out of hand and turned into a riot, before police shut it down.

With his actual birthday being on Saturday, we can only imagine what else he's got in store. Happy 33rd, MGK!
