Machine Gun Kelly seems to be in the process of amending his name but some fans just can't help but poke fun at the decision.
As per a report by Entertainment Tonight, some fans who attended a recent concert to see the 'Bad Things' rapper decided to hold up a sign urging the star to change his name for a very specific reason.
The 33-year-old, whose real name is Colson Baker, noticed the sign and questioned why the fans had it.
"I have no idea what that sign means," he told them. The owners of the sign then proceeded to explain that they wanted MGK to change his name by taking out the "machine gun" part because he shouldn't be "[glorifying] machine guns."
While he didn't have anything more to say on the topic at the gig, he later appeared at the GQ Men of the Year party earlier in the month, where he told photographers to shorten his name down to just "Machine."
"Instead of Machine Gun can you just call me Machine from now on? Just Machine," he said while posing for photos on the red carpet.
And just to double down on the name change, he also took to Instagram to post a series of photos alongside the simple caption: "Machine."
Some fans seem to be loving the change, but others, however, couldn't help but poke fun at the reasons behind the reduction even going as far as suggesting some other safer name options.
"Nail Gun Kelly," wrote one user while another added that he should be called "Glue Gun Kelly."
A third piped up with: "Finger Gun Kelly" perhaps the safest of all weapons.
Other suggestions included "Nerf Gun Kelly" and "Staple Gun Kelly" - hilarious and totally on the mark of what the rapper's probably going for.
The news comes shortly after MGK was thrust into the spotlight after his partner, actress Megan Fox revealed that the pair had undergone immense pain in their relationship after the 37-year-old suffered a miscarriage.
In an interview with Good Morning America, Fox opened up about suffering a miscarriage with her and MGK's baby which put some strain on the pair's relationship.
"I had never been through anything like that before in my life," the 37-year-old said. "I have three kids, so it was very difficult for both of us. And it sent us on a very wild journey together and separately, and together and apart, and together and apart, and together and apart, trying to navigate, 'What does this mean? Why did this happen?'"
Elsewhere in the interview, she also talked about the difficulties she's faced in previous relationships when discussing her latest book 'Pretty Boys Are Poisonous.'
"I just think it was something inside of me that had to come out because it was gonna make me sick," Fox said.
"This is not an exposé that I wrote or a memoir," she continued. "But throughout my life, I have been in at least one physically abusive relationship and several psychologically very abusive relationships. I've only been publicly connected to a few people, but I shared energy with, I guess we could say, [some] who were horrific people and also very famous, very famous people.
"But no one knows that I was involved with those people," she added.
