Gypsy Rose's ex breaks silence after their breakup: ‘I’m not doing well with it’

Ryan Scott Anderson has broken his silence after his separation from Gypsy Rose Blanchard.

Their love story was a unique one, with Gypsy Rose having been sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016 for her involvement in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, while her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn. received a life sentence without parole for the crime

However, despite being behind bars, Gypsy Rose's search for love continued. In 2019, she became engaged to a man named Ken, whom she met through a prison pen pal initiative. However, this engagement was short-lived.

Then it appeared that Gypsy Rose had found 'the one'; in 2022, she exchanged vows with Ryan Scott Anderson.

Despite the pair seemingly having a rough patch in 2023, they remained husband and wife and moved in together following the 32-year-old's release from prison in December 2023.

Reflecting on her release in an interview with The Viall Files podcast, Gypsy Rose shared: "My husband picked me up and then we drove to a hotel that we got locally. We spent the night, we had our first intimate moments as husband and wife, got to consummate our marriage, which was great."

The couple recently called it quits, with the 32-year-old posting on her private Facebook about the split.

The statement read: "People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately, my husband and I are going through a separation, and I moved in with my parents' home down the bayou.

"I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now, I need time to let myself find… who I am."

The couple exchanged vows in a private jailhouse ceremony in July 2022, with no guests present.

Before her release in December 2023, Blanchard shared her intentions to marry Anderson again and host a reception, stating: "We do plan on having a reception/redo wedding with all of our family and our friends and the dress and the cake and everything because we deserve that. I deserve that. He deserves that."

Ryan has now spoken out about the sudden separation, telling the Daily Mail: “I’m not doing well with it. For me, it just came out of the blue.”

He spoke of his shock when Gypsy Rose was spotted in Louisiana with her ex-fiancé, Ken Urker, to whom she was engaged in 2018 before ending things in 2019.

“I had no idea she still had such strong feelings for him,” he told the outlet.
