Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac fame claims that the iconic rock band would never have survived if she didn't go through an abortion.

Speaking in an interview with The Guardian about the hard-won abortion rights achieved by feminists in the sixties, seventies, and eighties, the acclaimed musician and songwriter said that her career as an artist would have been hampered by having a child too early.

Commenting on her decision to have an abortion, Nicks stated:

"If I had not had that abortion, I’m pretty sure there would have been no Fleetwood Mac.

"There’s just no way that I could have had a child then, working as hard as we worked constantly. And there were a lot of drugs, I was doing a lot of drugs […] I would have had to walk away."

Nicks added that, at that point in her life, creating music was more important to her than child-rearing was, which influenced her decision, stating:

"I knew that the music we were going to bring to the world was going to heal so many people’s hearts and make people so happy.

"I thought, 'You know what? That’s really important. There’s not another band in the world that has two lead women singers, two lead women writers.'

"That was my world’s mission."

However, she also had stern words to share on the subject of President Donald Trump, stating:

"Abortion rights, that was really my generation’s fight.

"If President Trump wins this election and puts the judge he wants in, she will absolutely outlaw it and push women back into back-alley abortions."

Fleetwood Mac's music has been granted a new lease on life this year due to the #dreamschallenge - a viral TikTok trend originally coined by a TikTok user and Idaho resident named Nathan Apodaca.

According to ABC 7 News, Apocada went viral after uploading a video of himself skateboarding while drinking Ocean Spray brand cranberry juice after his car broke down. The Fleetwood Mac song 'Dreams' could be heard in the background of the video.

Per BBC News, Mick Fleetwood himself later personally thanked Apocada for giving new listeners the chance to experience the 1977 hit.
