Original 'High School Musical' cast are reuniting for Disney special

The Disney Channel has brought us many an iconic movie and TV show over the years, but few have been as popular as High School Musical. The singing sensation that first hit our screens back in 2006, catapulting various people including Zac Efron to fame.

Now, the original High School Musical cast are reuniting for a Disney special that's set to air in just two days. It's the news we all need during this difficult time.

The Disney Family Singalong special will feature Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel and Monique Coleman singing the legendary song that is  'We're All In This Together' from their homes.

It's also been reported by Cosmopolitan that Zac Efron will be making an appearance, but he likely won't be singing and instead is expected to deliver a message to fans.

In an interview Deadline, Director Kenny Ortega: "We couldn’t reach Zac until late but when we did, he immediately jumped in, of course. Everyone we reached out to was quick - and you’ll see it in their spirit and the way they come together from their homes. They recognize this is an opportunity to strengthen spirits for those joining us for the broadcast."

Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, The Disney Family Singalong will feature another of other famous faces from the iconic channel including Ariana Grande, Dove Cameron, Darren Criss, Josh Groban, Demi Lovato, Christina Aguilera, and Elle Fanning, who will also be singing well-known songs.

The Disney special is set to air on US channel ABC on April 16. However, don't worry if you're a Disney fan based outside the US as it's more than likely to be added to Disney+ shortly after.
