Meadow Walker, the daughter of the late Fast and Furious star Paul Walker, has shared a heartfelt tribute in honor of what would have been his 50th birthday.

Paul tragically died in November 2013 at the age of just 40 after being involved in a devastating car accident in Santa Clarita, California.

The Porsche he had been traveling in, driven by his friend Roger Rodas, crashed into a concrete lamppost and two trees before bursting into flames, killing both men.

The much-loved star would have turned 50 on September 12, and his daughter Meadow - now 24 - took to Instagram to share a heartbreaking tribute on her late dad's birthday.

Sharing a black and white photo of the two of them sitting in the garden together when she was just a small child, she wrote: "Happy birthday to my guardian angel.

"Thank you for your love, guidance, friendship, sunshine and for raising me to see all of the beauty in the world.

"You are the most kind, humble, generous and caring soul I know. You taught me at a young age to always treat everyone with respect, to do good and to take care of our planet."

Meadow concluded the post: "I love you and miss you every day."

It comes after Meadow paid tribute to Paul's Fast and Furious legacy earlier in the year by appearing in the latest movie in the franchise - Fast X - in a special cameo.

Speaking about the poignant role, she shared a snap from behind the scenes on set as she told her followers: "A preview of my cameo in Fast X. The first fast was released when I was one year old! I grew up on set watching my father, Vin, Jordana, Michelle, Chris and more on the monitors.

"Thanks to my dad, I was born into the fast family. I can't believe now I get to be up there too. With those who have been around to see me grow up."

She finished the post by writing: "I am so blessed to be able to honor my father’s legacy and share this with him forever x I love you all so much."

Vin Diesel, Meadow's godfather and Paul's best friend who also starred alongside him as Dominic Toretto in the Fast movies, commented a praying hands emoji on her post.

The franchise was some of Paul's best-known work throughout his career, as he starred in the first seven movies in the series.

His final appearance was in Furious 7 which he was shooting at the time of his death. Production was initially suspended following his death but the film was able to be finished thanks to his brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker, stepping in to be his doubles for the character of Brian O'Connor.
