Johnny Depp fans are not only petitioning to get Amber Heard cut from Aquaman 2 - now they want to replace her with Depp's attorney.

One of the break-out stars of Depp and Heard's high-profile legal trial - which concluded last Friday after weeks of headline-making courtroom action - is Depp's strong-willed lawyer Camille Vasquez.

The attorney became a fan favorite among Depp's supporters after she ruthlessly grilled Heard on the witness stand.

And now that the trial is over, it's clear fans don't want this to be the last of Vazquez they see on their screens. People are so enamored with the lawyer that they even think she should try her hand at acting - and that she should take over Heard's biggest role.

A petition to have Vazquez replace Heard as Queen Mera in the upcoming superhero sequel Aquaman and the Los Kingdom has surfaced on Change.org.

"Although Amber is a 'credible' actor and has actually demonstrated it on many occasions, not just in films or 'perhaps' on the stand. If Camille is half the actor she is as a lawyer this will be an absolute blockbuster of a film," the petition argues.

This isn't the first time Depp's fans have campaigned for Heard to be cut from Aquaman amid the celebrity exes' defamation trial.

Over 4 million people have signed a petition (also on Change.org) to have her removed from the sequel.

"Amber Heard has been exposed as a domestic abuser by Johnny Depp," reads the petition, which was started by Jeanne Larson and addresses DC Entertainment and Courtney Simmons, the SVP for Publicity & Communications for DC Warner Bros.

Larson goes on to list the "many incidents of domestic abuse" that Depp has claimed, "he suffered at the hands of his (then) wife Amber Heard." Among these is an occasion when Depp says she severed his finger with a broken liquor bottle, and another when she allegedly punched him in the face.

"Men are victims of domestic abuse, just like women. This must be recognized, and action must be taken to prevent a known abuser from being celebrated within the entertainment industry," the petition continues, concluding: "Do the right thing. Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2."

Fan pressure has already had some effect on the upcoming movie. During the trial, Heard revealed that many of her scenes had been cut from the movie in which "they basically took a bunch out of my role."

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is scheduled for release on March 17, 2023.
