Phil Collins is set to be questioned on camera and under oath over claims he refused to shower or brush his teeth for a year.
The accusations, which the former Genesis frontman has denied, were made by his ex-wife Orianne Bates, whom he was married to from 1999 until 2008.
Now, the 70-year-old musician will be questioned about it by her lawyers in a filmed deposition, The Sun reports.
Collins had asked for the deposition to be thrown out, but his request was rejected by a judge in Los Angeles this week.
A spokesperson for Bates said, per Metro: "We are happy for the win in this matter, look forward to the case moving forward, and as she has said from the beginning, we expect justice to be served."
Jewelry designer Orianne, 47, is suing the singer for half of the home they once shared in Miami.
Meanwhile, her lawyer Richard Wolfe said: "I have spoken with Phil’s counsel and anticipate his deposition sometime in December after his current tour.
"We have always been ready and willing to discuss a resolution. Orianne has warm feelings for Phil as they have children together and she only wants what is fair and reasonable, and what Phil agreed to."
Orianne, who shares two sons with Phil and remarried last year with Tom Bates, 32, alleged that he abused alcohol and prescription medication while they were together and that he stopped showering and brushing his teeth.
She also claimed he became "depressed, abusive and incapable of having sex," per The Sun.
Her claims did not sit well with Collins's lawyers, who said the allegations are "scandalous, scurrilous, unethical and, for the most part, patently false or grossly exaggerated".

They also said her claims were "totally immaterial" to their dispute over the house.
She had been living there with her new husband but agreed to leave after being handed a court mandate.
They had battled over the property, with Phil insisting she had no right to live there and suing in order to kick her and Thomas out of the property.
