Journalists have been left shocked at the World Cup after a Brazilian press officer threw a cat off the table where they were sitting during a press conference.

Brazilian star Vinicius Jr. was answering the obligatory pre-game questions before their quarter-final match against Croatia when a cat unexpectedly jumped onto the table.

The 22-year-old soccer star appeared amused at the furry interruption, as the cat plodded across the table before settling down next to the unnamed press officer, reports the Daily Mail.

The Brazilian press officer gave the cat a quick scratch on the head but then decided that the feline had had enough of the spotlight so he grabbed it by the scruff of its neck and back, and threw it from the table.

The move was met with gasps from the journalists who were present at the press conference, but the official seemed unmoved by their shocked response, as he shrugged his shoulders and asked reporters for the next question.

Viewers of the footage on Twitter condemned the way the cat had been thrown off the table, tweeting: "That is not how you pick up a cat with kindness. For shame!", and "Awkward! The cat will be OK, but he was obviously not a cat lover! Bad optic!"

Others added: "bro just threw that cat off wtf" and "Ridiculous way to pick it up - you pick them up with a hand on each side, just behind their front legs. Not hard".

The media discussed the events amongst themselves and the Real Madrid forward laughed the incident off, before the press conference continued as if nothing had happened.

The Brazilian star discussed how Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is like a "father" to him and how he has given him a lot of confidence both on and off the pitch.

The 22-year-old is due to start against Croatia on Friday and will be hoping to add to his already impressive tally of one goal and two assists during this tournament.

This isn't the first time an animal has intruded on a soccer-related event. Earlier this year a dog invaded the pitch during a game between Chile and Venezuela Women, per The Sun.

The game came to a grinding halt as the excited four-legged canine ran to the players looking for them to join in on the fun. It demanded belly scratches from one of the goalkeepers before running up to the referee to demand more attention.

The dog - a black labrador - evaded capture for quite some time, but in the end, its love for belly rubs was its downfall. As it rolled over by a Chilean player, the soccer player used this as an opportunity to pick the dog up before safely giving it to a steward so the game could resume.

Let's hope the Brazilian press officer takes notes from the Chilean player!

Viewers spotted an awkward moment between Madonna and Brazil legend Ronaldo during the World Cup halftime show.

The halftime show kicked off after Spain and Argentina went into the break level at 0-0 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Brazilian soccer legends Ronaldo and Ronaldinho made a surprise entrance, arriving on the pitch in a cart before joining the 67-year-old icon as she opened the entertainment spectacular.

The stars, both members of Brazil's 2002 World Cup-winning squad, received a huge ovation from the crowd.

Fans notice awkward exchange with Madonna

During the performance, Ronaldo was spotted slowly pumping his hands while dancing before the 'Hung Up' musician appeared to lower one of them.

"Why did she lower his hand??" one fan on X asked.

Another viewer offered a different interpretation, replying: "She was holding both of their hands at the same time, it wasn't lowering of the type 'stop.'"

Justin Bieber, Shakira, and Burna Boy also took the stage

After Madonna finished her set, Justin Bieber took over with an acoustic performance of 'Everything Hallelujah.'

Shakira and Burna Boy then performed the tournament's official World Cup anthem, 'Dai, Dai'.

The spectacle was curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and lasted 27 minutes and 19 seconds, far longer than the traditional 15-minute halftime interval outlined by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

The extended break has become one of many changes FIFA introduced during the tournament, alongside hydration breaks that split each half into two shorter periods.

Final overshadowed by Donald Trump's trophy ceremony

The show wasn't the only moment from the World Cup final that dominated social media.

After Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 to claim its second World Cup title, President Donald Trump presented the trophy before appearing to linger on stage as the Spanish players prepared to celebrate.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino was seen approaching Trump and seemingly trying to usher him away, but the president remained standing alongside the team during the trophy lift.

The moment prompted criticism online, with one X user writing: "Donald Trump doesn’t know what he’s doing, and he’s trying to steal the spotlight from the team! Can he just get off the stage and let the Spain players have their moment?"

Another added: "Trump is like a toddler running about the altar during a wedding mass and Infantino his mother legging it about after him trying to get him down but not too forcefully incase he has a tantrum."

Many others described Trump's presence as "inappropriate," "beyond pathetic," and "embarrassing," while some compared it to last year's Club World Cup final, when he also remained front and center as Chelsea celebrated lifting the trophy.

The conversation continued hours later after Spain posted a photo of its celebrations captioned "LOS SUEÑOS SE CUMPLEN," meaning "DREAMS DO COME TRUE."

Some fans became convinced Trump had been digitally removed from the image.

"LOL SPAIN EDITED TRUMP OUT OF THE PHOTO," one person wrote. "They edited trump out," another chimed in.

Over the last few years, 36-year-old Rodrigo Alves has been on a quest to transform himself into the most beautiful version of himself. His seemingly unrelenting desire to change his look and go under the knife earned him the nickname, 'The Human Ken Doll'.

But earlier this year, Alves, of São Paulo, Brazil, revealed in an interview with the MailOnline that he didn't think his body could handle any more surgery. He made the following comments back in March after undergoing yet another surgery for the "perfect" chin:

"I hope that this was my last surgery my body just can’t take it anymore. I just can’t help the fact that I had an infection which deformed my chin. Yesterday was my first day out and about after having the OP on Saturday. My face is very swollen still, I am struggling to eat and to drink. Liquid just goes everywhere."

(That being said, he also claimed to be done with plastic surgery "for a few years" after undergoing his 11th rhinoplasty a month prior.)

But here we are, less than eight months later, and Alves is back on our screens and undergoing what could be his most daring surgery to date.

Taking part in a German TV documentary, Roddy, the 36-year-old has undergone a procedure that has seen his infamous 'fake six-pack' removed and inserted into his backside - resulting in a peachier posterior.

Speaking to the MailOnline, Alves revealed: "Eight years ago I had a procedure done in Brazil called Abdominal Etching, which gives me the fake six-pack. As much as people thought that it was amazing I don't think that it passed on the right message since I didn’t work out for it I just paid for it.

"Also, the six-pack didn’t match the rest of my body and started to look a bit silly!"

Recalling the procedure, Alves detailed just how his surgeon - Dr Serkan Balta - was able to sculpt a new butt: "In order to erase the six-pack, Dr Serkan Balta from Comfort Zone Istanbul performed a five-hour liposuction removing the six-pack and 3/5 liters worth of fat from my belly and back.

"I see all my plastic surgeries as an evolution of me as a person! I never wanted to look like a Ken Doll or to be a Ken Doll. I just wanted to be unique and to show the world that in life anything is possible.

"Also, I wanted to show people that we don’t have to live forever with a look that we were born with and feel unhappy about for the rest of our lives."

But now that the reality star is closer to 40 than 30, he is starting the reevaluate his life, and the many surgeries he has endured over the years. Alves - who underwent his first plastic surgery at the age of 17 -stated:

"At the age that I am now, 36, I see the world differently. I am still changing - not just aesthetically but inside."

Cristiano Ronaldo was left surprised at the Euro 2020 tournament after being asked to show his ID by a security guard.

The Portugal captain, 36, is widely regarded as one of the world's greatest footballers, which is why footage of the incident quickly went viral when it was tweeted by Balls.ie.

It was captioned: "Fair play to the Hungarian security staff for double-checking that Cristiano Ronaldo had permission to attend today's game."

Reacting to the footage, one Twitter user wrote: "Hungarian security checking Cristiano Ronaldo's ID with all the energy of a nightclub bouncer."

Meanwhile, a second Twitter user simply wrote: "Powertrip."

Per Independent, Ronaldo went on to have huge success in the match and scored two goals which brought him ahead of Michel Platini as the leading goal scorer in the championship.

Ronaldo this week hit headlines after kickstarting a movement by removing the Coke bottles in front of him at a press conference.

Ahead of his first game, the Portugal captain sat in front of the media, only to realize that there were Coca-Cola bottles in front of him, which prompted him to shout "Agua!", which is Portuguese for water.

However, his disdain for the drink was something he previously made clear when discussing the possibility that his son could follow in his sporting footsteps.

Per Metro, he said at the Global Soccer Awards ceremony: "We'll see if my son will become a great footballer. Sometimes he drinks Coca-cola and eats crisps and it irritates me, he knows that.

"Sometimes I tell my son to take a dip in cold water to recover after a run on the treadmill and he says, 'Dad, it's so cold there'. That's fine, he is only 10 years old."

Ronaldo's decision to remove the Coca-Cola bottles went on to inspire Paul Pogba, a devout Muslim, to remove a Heineken beer bottle away from him as he discussed France's victorious game over Germany.

Now, soccer player Manuel Locatelli has also joined in on the removal of Coca-Cola bottles at his press conference table on Thursday, June 17.

Robbie Williams has spoken out to address the white substance that fell from his mouth during the World Cup final.

The British singer, 52, performed at the long-awaited final on Sunday evening before Spain beat Argentina 1-0, but it was a moment from a post-match interview that ended up going viral.

While speaking with Magenta TV about the game, viewers noticed a white substance fall from Robbie's face onto the microphone.

He also noticed when it happened and quickly removed the white lump, which then ended up transferring to his forehead when he scratched his head shortly afterward.

Some viewers thought it was a tonsil stone, while others claimed it appeared to be cocaine, writing on social media: "Robbie Williams had a tonsil stone fly out mid convo on live tv, then proceeded to stick it to his forehead. Prayers."

Others added: "Robbie Williams has a chunk of coke drop out of his nose and he doesn’t miss a beat. Savin’ that for later! Monday vibes," and: "I can’t believe my eyes, Robbie Williams dropping a .2 out of his nose on live tv. Casually wipes it on his head during the interview. Mental."

While some assumed it fell from his nose, viewers that slowed the video down saw the white crumb clearly came from the entertainer's mouth while he began to speak.

Robbie himself took to social media to clear up the rumors, sharing a video telling fans: "I’d just like to apologize for the object that fell onto the microphone yesterday, it was deeply unprofessional.

"And people worried about me, but, it’s OK because I had several more."

He then laughed and stuck out his tongue to show two breath mints in his mouth, confirming the white lump was simply a mint he'd failed to finish before talking.

Robbie captioned the post: "Just woke up and feeling…. Mint x."

Robbie has been open about his past struggles with drug and alcohol abuse and has been sober for over 20 years.

He wrote in his 2017 book, Reveal: "I went to some very, very dark places. The ability to care is taken away in the addiction.

"That’s why so many people die from addiction."

Following the clip going viral, a source told The Sun: "Poor Rob woke up to hundreds of messages from pals and fans asking what on earth was going on.

"He was obviously a bit bemused before realising people had seen the Nicorette mint plopping from his mouth, and thinking it was something dodgy. Which, clearly, it was not."
