Fans have just found out that Tom Holland is not the only famous face in his family.

The 27-year-old English actor has had a pretty outstanding career considering his young age. From starring in Marvel's Spiderman films to leaving fans stunned by his lip-sync performance of Rihanna's 'Umbrella,' it's fair to say the star has it made in Hollywood.

Tom started his acting journey in the world of theater in 2008, initially taking on a supporting role in Billy Elliot the Musical. In the same year, he earned the lead role, which he portrayed until 2010.

Subsequently, he transitioned to the big screen with his debut film appearance in the disaster drama, The Impossible (2012), where he shared the screen with Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor.

In 2016, Tom ventured into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), debuting as Spider-Man / Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War (2016). This marked the beginning of his seven-film journey within the franchise, encompassing not only appearances in various superhero flicks but also his standalone Spider-Man titles.

Despite Tom's A-list status, some people have just discovered that his dad is Dominic Holland, a stand-up comedian who has worked alongside British stars like Rob Brydon and Harry Hill.

The 56-year-old has also worked as a broadcaster and author and is also the creator of the recent Amazon comedy special - Dominic Holland: The Glory Year.

The father-of-four has been working in the industry since the 1990s and is not nearly as much of a "household name" as his eldest son - a fact he usually pokes fun at.

"I have been trying to make it as a star for a long time," Dominic penned in a 2013 op-ed for Daily Mail. "For more than 20 years, my entire income has come from making people laugh -  or trying to...But I am the first to admit that I have never been a household name."

"So, looking at my son, Tom, standing next to me in the immigration queue at the airport in Los Angeles, I realized that, at the tender age of 16, he had already eclipsed his father’s own show business career," he added.

The comic also wrote a novel titled Eclipsed (2017), in which he opened up about how the Uncharted star's stardom ended up swallowing his own.

"How does a kid called Tom Holland, who never had a speaking part in a school play find himself playing Marvel’s Peter Parker?" the bio of the book starts, as cited by Huffington Post. "A series of happy coincidences and serendipitous events is the answer. A fluke, then? Yes, but not exactly, given that huge amounts of commitment and hard work have been required."

"Written by a dad who as a professional comedian took his own shot at show-biz stardom and called Eclipsed because his carefully honed plans didn’t work out so well," he added.

Many people took to their social media to share their shocked reactions to news of the Avengers actor's famous father.

One awestruck fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "Why have I only just learned who Tom Holland’s dad is? I would not have guessed that."

Another user said: "I was yesterday years old when I learned that Spiderman Tom Holland is the son of 90s comedy and TV production chap Dominic Holland."

Someone else commented: "Just found out Tom Holland’s dad was a famous comedian in England.... holy s*** the nepotism in the entertainment industry is the gift that keeps giving."

A fourth shared: "Did y’all know Tom Holland was a nepo baby??" but others responded that the actor's achievements were largely of his own making. "If anything he’s nepoing everyone else in his family," a second person quipped.

Did you guys know that Dominic was the Spiderman star's father?
