For the past eight years, millions of us have been tuning in to HBO in order to find out the fates of the various favourites and foes in Westeros. Now, in 2019, the final season is set to air - and the first teaser dropped yesterday at the Golden Globes.
The sneak peek is only a matter of seconds long, but it contains a very important moment: Sansa Stark meeting Daenerys Targaryen.
When we left them in the last series, Sansa was chilling out as the Lady of Winterfell, and Daenerys was getting it on in traditional Targaryen fashion (i.e. incestuously) with her nephew and new bae, Jon Snow. With the White Walkers fast approaching, though, it's likely that Sansa will need to call on Daenerys and her dragons for help, which may explain this brief, albeit very tense, moment:

Spliced between teasers for other HBO shows, the Game of Thrones clip shows Sansa greeting the Khaleesi, saying, "Winterfell is yours, your grace" in what seems to be a very reluctant manner. This is obviously a huge moment in the show, as it is the first time in the entirety of the series that the two have ever met face to face.
Separately, they've each had a significant influence on who gets to sit on the iron throne - but will either of them be the one to claim the top spot?
Recently released betting odds show that Daenerys is actually the second most likely character to be named the next Queen of Westeros, with a 4/1 chance of being crowned. She is tied with Jon Snow, however, and Bran Stark is likelier than both of them to sit on the iron throne, with his odds of victory being at a staggering 50 per cent.
Sansa, meanwhile, has only a 12/1 chance of claiming the title, though, meaning that - in many ways - Daenerys is actually her rival.
However, The Mother of Dragons is also more likely to die than Sansa. Again according to betting odds, there's a 75 per cent chance that Daenerys will not survive the final season. Meanwhile, the elder Stark daughter has only a 58 per cent chance of dying, which may seem high, but - when you consider how frequently main characters die in the series anyway - it's probably no more than the normal percentage for her.
That being said, Sophie Turner (the actress who plays Sansa) made some statements last year which made many believe her character might not make it to the end.
"[There were] a lot of tears. I think, you know, as an actor it was really satisfying - I think for everyone, everyone’s storylines - to be able to act out the way that it all ends. It was really satisfying for us," Turner said.
"Who knows if it will be satisfying for the fans. I think a lot of fans will be disappointed and a lot of fans will be over the moon, I think. I think it will be really interesting to see people’s reactions, but for me reading the script it was just like heartbreaking to read at the very final page of the script it just says, ‘End of Game of Thrones’. That was really emotional."
With all that to think about, and now having seen the latest teaser, April 2019 really can't come soon enough.

With just a month to go until the final season of Game of Thrones makes it to our screens, fans are somehow even more hyped about the show than they've ever been before. Social media has exploded with wild theories, superfans have spent hours poring over minute details in past episodes and trailers, and even the cast have been a little more open about the upcoming season than they were previously.
And, thanks to the new trailer, many people think they've spotted a hint about what might be in store for Jon Snow and his (spoiler alert for those who aren't up to date) newly-discovered Targaryen blood.
Here's the epic trailer if you haven't had a chance to watch it already:

As you'll remember from the last season, Jon meets Daenerys for the first time, and they very quickly - uh - hit it off. Unbeknownst to Jon, however, Dany is his aunt.
Of course, the undead Night's Watchman had no way of knowing he was related to the Khaleesi, but he should maybe have got an inkling in the season 7 episode 'Eastwatch', when one of Dany's dragon's, Drogon, let Jon pet him. As we know by now, dragons are fiercely loyal to Targaryens, and very rarely let anyone from other houses interact with them.
But a dragon's bond with a Targaryen goes further than that. As we know from Daenerys' antics over the past few seasons, those from the dragon house can also ride on the creatures - and fans think that the new trailer hints at Jon being able to do just that.
This shot, in particular, is what kicked off the theory:
Two Targaryens, two dragons - one of whom happens to be named after Jon's real father, Rhaegar. You do the math.

But that's not the only hint the trailer has given away, of course.
We've also been shown that Tormund Giantsbane is still alive (thank the gods!), that Arya is running from an enemy while carrying a dragonglass spearhead, and that Cersei seems genuinely shaken up by something that's about to happen to her.
And yet, it left us with so many more questions than it answered. How did Tormund survive? Who is Arya running from? And why is Cersei so worried?
Thankfully, we only have a matter of weeks to wait for everything to be revealed.
