Justin Timberlake announces fifth album, releases emotional trailer

Justin Timberlake's had quite a career, going from a cast member of The Mickey Mouse Club to the star of the bestselling boy band N'Sync to his own successful solo career, crafting sexy, dance-floor ready hits with Timbaland and Pharrell. He's also proven himself to be a talented actor, starring in critically acclaimed movies like The Social Network, and absolutely killing it whenever he appears on Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. (Does the man ever sleep?) It's been five years since Justin's last solo album, 2013's The 20/20 Experience. Since then, the pop star has kept busy with his acting career, and took time to spend with his family. In 2012, he married actress Jessica Biel, and the power couple has one child, Silas. In an interview, the Mirrors singer revealed the secret to their happy marriage: They keep dating, even after the wedding. (And that's dating each other, not other people!). "That's always my rule," said Justin. "Even when you get married you have to keep dating." Now, after a five year hiatus from music, Justin announced his fifth solo album, Man of the Woods. The project comes out on February 2nd, just in time for Valentine's Day, in case you need a new playlist of sexy singles to set the mood. The new single drops this Friday, January 5th, and so far there's no word on the title. However, Justin did drop an emotional trailer, describing where he found inspiration for his new music. As we hear tantalizing snippets of upbeat new music, Justin strolls through a cornfield, meditates waist-deep in a lake and looks off in reverie, while standing on top of a cliff. "This album is really inspired by my son, my wife, my family," says Justin in the voiceover narration. "But more so than any album I’ve ever written, where I’m from. And it’s personal." To reinforce the personal feel, the woodsy video features quick glimpses of what appears to be Justin's wife, Jessica, and their child, Silas. A unidentified woman's voice then describes the album's bucolic vibe: "It feels like mountains. Trees. Campfires. Like Wild West, but now." There's also a cameo from longtime collaborator Pharrell, who says the album, "feels so earthy. It's just where you are in your life right now." Then we get a glimpse of the producer rocking out in the studio, exclaiming, "That is a smash!" Some people were surprised he would return, since the infamous "Nipplegate" controversy in 2004. In case you don't remember, JT sang a duet with Janet Jackson, and touched her shirt, accidentally exposing one of Janet's breasts. The brief "wardrobe malfunction" made news around the world, and families were outraged, calling the incident totally inappropriate. (But grown men tackling each other so hard they cause brain damage, while scantily clad cheerleaders dance on the sidelines? Totally appropriate.) However, now it seems the NFL is welcoming Justin back with open arms. Well, 2018 is already shaping up to be a great year for music, isn't it? I hope Justin's new single is called "Wardrobe Malfunction."

In general, I would say that if you asked people what the meaning of life is, they would say that they just want to be happy. That's what we're all here for at the end of the day, right? We all just want to be happy. Happiness comes in a variety of different forms - for some people it might be a big family with a loving partner, others may prefer to be alone. Whatever your preference is for happiness, life is too short to be sad 24/7 - so go out there and enjoy yourselves. One person who seems to be continuously happy is Justin Timberlake. Obviously, JT has plenty of reasons to be delighted with the way his life has panned out: he has a lot of cash, does what he loves for his career and seems to have married the love of his life in the form of Jessica Biel. And that's important, with nearly half of all marriages ending in divorce, and millennials waiting longer and longer to walk down the aisle. Marriage is tough. No matter what, you're going go through some rough patches. To quote Chris Rock, "Only married people can understand what it's like to be miserable and happy at the same time."

Jessica Biel reveals she and Justin Timberlake renewed their vows

Congratulations are in order as Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake have said "I do" for a second time!

The 40-year-old Texas Chainsaw Massacre star shared her relationship update on Wednesday, October 19, as she celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary.

"Being married to you is the adventure of a lifetime!" Biel wrote in a caption that accompanied a series of photos with 41-year-old Timberlake. "Run it back, baby. RUN IT BACK. I love you."

Taking to Instagram Story, the Candy actress also shared a photo from their wedding vow renewal ceremony.

“From our vow renewal this summer — in Italy where it all went down,” Biel captioned the image, in which Timberlake is seen pulling a funny face while his bride smiles and flashes a peace sign at the camera.

For their vow renewal, Biel wore a white dress with a tiered skirt and black belt by Italian designer Giambattista Valli, the same designer who made her wedding dress. Timberlake looked handsome as ever in a cream suit, paired with a white button-down.

In his own anniversary post on October 19, the NSYNC alum captioned a sweet image and video carousel: "10 years ain’t enough! You make me a better husband and father every day! I love you so much you beautiful human! Run it back!"

While the notoriously private couple tend to keep their children out of the public eye, Timberlake often hails Biel as an incredible mother.

"Moms are the strongest people on the planet. I am constantly in awe of the mothers in my life," he wrote on Instagram on Mother's Day in 2021. "Jess - you're the heart of this family. Your boys look up to you and love you unconditionally. And so do I."

The pair, who share sons Silas, 7, and Phineas, 2, tied the knot in Fasano, Italy, in 2012 after five years of dating. Their relationship hasn't always been smooth sailing over the years - particularly back in 2019, when Justin was spotted holding hands and looking cozy with his Palmer costar Alisha Wainwright in a New Orleans bar.

He later took to Instagram to apologize for "hurting the people I love."

"A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgment—but let me be clear—nothing happened between me and my costar," Timberlake wrote. "I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son."

He concluded: "I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be."

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel finally reveal the name of their second son

Justin Timberlake has finally revealed the name of the youngest son he shares with Jessica Biel, following roughly six months of secrecy around their newborn child.

When the pair welcomed their son during lockdown last summer, they had kept the news fairly tight-lipped, with Biel, 38, reportedly giving birth to their new addition around July 2020.

At the time, the news was confirmed by Timberlake's friend and collaborator Brian McKnight, who told Hollywood Life last July:

"Having kids and having his family, I think [Justin] took some time to focus on those things because those things are very important.

"I think if he’s going to do music, he’s going to make sure that that's secure, and then he'll bring us into his music.

"And being inspired! He just had a new baby. I think that's going to be really inspiring for him and he'll have some new music based on that, I'm sure."

And now in a recent video call interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Timberlake revealed that their newest baby boy is called Phineas.

"He’s awesome and so cute. Nobody’s sleeping," Timberlake told Degeneres. "But we’re thrilled. We’re thrilled and couldn’t be happier. Very grateful."

The couple, who got married back in 2012 welcomed their first son Silas in April 2015.

Phineas' birth came months after photos surfaced of the 39-year-old actor holding hands with a female co-star, Alisha Wainwright in November 2019. The following month, Timberlake posted a public apology to Biel on his Instagram.

He wrote:

"I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family I feel it is important to address recent rumors that are hurting the people I love.

"I displayed a strong lapse in judgment – but let me be clear – nothing happened between me and my co-star. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior.

"I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that."

But this definitely looks like a new chapter for the family, and we can't wait to see more of little Phineas.
