You know it's summertime when you walk down the sidewalk in the warm weather and see an adorable kid running a lemonade stand.
"Excuse me," says the kid. "Would you like some lemonade? It's only a dollar."
"Hell no!" you reply. "I'm going to Applebees to get wasted. They sell the same drink for the same price, but with alcohol. Learn how to compete in the free market, loser!"
That's right, Applebees is back with another dirt-cheap 'Neighborhood Drink of the Month' promotion. So, if you missed out on tossing back $1 margaritas last month to deal with the pain of a not-so-great Game of Thrones season, then good news! The restaurant is selling $1 vodka raspberry lemonades all day, every day, in June.
Applebees: come for the alcohol, stay for even more alcohol.
The 10 oz drinks are made with vodka, Tropicana lemonade, raspberry, and fresh lemon juice. But if you're like me, you'll ask them to hold the lemonade, raspberry, and lemon juice, then get very angry when they say no. Give me a 10 oz mug of vodka, you monsters! It's summer!
"Our guests always enjoy a refreshing vodka and lemonade cocktail, and we’re delighted to add raspberry to the lineup for the first time," said Patrick Kirk, Applebee’s vice president of beverage innovation, which is apparently a thing. The $1 Vodka Raspberry Lemonade is sunshine in a glass and light on your wallet - put that extra money toward your summer vacation."
Applebees: We're putting adorable kids with lemonade stands out of business, and we don't care.
