A mom was left furious after finding out that the babysitter she hired fed her vegetarian children chicken.

Taking to Reddit in a now-deleted post, the 19-year-old babysitter, who had been in the role for over two years, recalled one of her most awkward encounters with a parent.

While babysitting a nine-year-old boy and a seven-year-old girl for a new family, she ordered some chicken nuggets from McDonald's for the kids as a reward for their good behavior as per their request.

However, she did not know it would cause such a commotion when their mom returned home.

"The mum came home early and saw her children eating chicken nuggets," the babysitter wrote as per The Mirror. "She literally ripped the nuggets out of their hands and started screaming that I'm horrible for allowing her children to eat dead corpses and yelling at her children for eating the meat."

Things only continued to escalate as the mom kicked her out of the family's home.

"She kicked me out without paying me and then later text me saying that I need to pay her $300 for each kid for the emotional damage I have caused them and if I didn't she'd take me to court," she continued in the post.

Even despite the threat of legal action, the 19-year-old stood firm.

"I refused to pay the money and told her that she should have told me that she was vegetarian and I would have made sure to completely respect her family diet choice and since she didn't tell me it's not my fault. She said that I shouldn't just assume everyone eats meat," she added.

After the post went viral, many Reddit users took to the comment section to express their opinions on the matter, with many commending the babysitter for not forking out the cash to pay for "emotional damage."

"It was her responsibility to tell you her kids were vegetarian. She still owes you money for babysitting. I'd be willing to bet she has pulled this stunt before to get out of paying and maybe try to get some extra cash. I find it weird that neither kid mentioned they didn't eat meat and they wanted a Happy Meal," wrote one user while another added: "Call her bluff. She'll be laughed at in court."

A third agreed stating: "Give her contact info to your lawyers. Ask her when you can expect to be paid or if you should settle that as well in court."

Was the mom right not to pay the babysitter?
