A fitness influencer has taken to social media to reveal that she is "officially over" public gyms after a random woman apparently took the dumbbells she was using without asking.

Kylen Suttner (@fitbykylen) currently boasts over 207,000 followers on TikTok and more than 22,000 followers on Instagram - but there's apparently one person of the fitness fanatic getting in her full workout.

In a video shared to TikTok earlier this week, Suttner states: "I am officially over public gyms."

Why? Well, during the video, Suttner can be seen recording her dumbbell workout, before pausing her set and resting. However, moments after putting the dumbbells on the ground, another woman comes and takes them.

Suttner attempts to stop the woman, politely telling her: "Oh, sorry, I was using that."

But in response, the woman tells her: "I've been waiting for these for a really long time. You've had them forever."

You can check out the audacious video below:

Kylen tries to reason with the woman, telling her that she just has a "couple more" reps to complete in her workout. But the other gymgoer tells her: "You've had them long enough."

The awkward encounter has since amassed more than 7.2 million views on the social media platform, and sparked a huge amount of comments from other TikTok users.

"You’re a much better person than me this would’ve brought out anger I didn’t know I had," one person commented.

A second added: "Listen, I don’t believe violence is ever a good response but sometimes it’s the only response."

And there was plenty of other TikTokers voicing their support for Kylen:

There were also several TikTok users questioning if the video was staged, with some people believing that this level of audacity just simply could not be real.

Kylen has yet to comment on the video's legitimacy, so it's worth taking it all with a pinch of salt for now, but I can say for sure that I have seen people at my gym behave in such a manner.

I won't lie, if this video is legitimate and not staged, I completely agree with Suttner here.

A public gym is a place for everybody to use and enjoy - at their own pace. Yes, some people take longer than others to work out using the equipment, but that's normal. Nobody has the right to come over and take your equipment away from you.
