Popular Instagram bodybuilder and cosplayer Yuan Herong, 30, has revealed she is now on the "front line" helping fight the coronavirus outbreak in China.

Despite being an avid gym-goer, competitive bodybuilder, and model/cosplayer, Yuan is also a fully qualified doctor of traditional Chinese medicine.

Despite being a fan of sports and fitness from a young age, Yuan told the MailOnline that it was her parents' desire for her to have a stable career that led to her focusing on her studies first:

"Both my parents are doctors. At first, I didn't really want to study traditional Chinese medicine, I liked martial arts. My parents told me not to give up my medical studies because they said it was a career that could benefit me for all my life."

In the slideshow of images, Yuan also shared a snap of a group of medical professionals standing in a circle, all placing their hands in the center in an apparent act of comradery.

In another post, she writes: "171 cases of new pneumonia were cured and 15238 suspected cases were found. The healers are all treated through traditional Chinese medicine and other symptomatic treatment. We will try our best to do a good job in prevention and treatment."

In a previous interview with the Mail, Yuan revealed how she balances her life as a doctor and her passion for fitness, saying: "Because I am a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, I don't need to work shifts. Therefore I get to go to the gym at 5:30 pm when I finish work. I go there four to five times a week no matter it rains or not.

"I have thought of giving up. Training is a tough, painful, tiring and lonely process. But when I saw my muscles becoming more and more toned, I felt it was worth it."

Her amazing story, combined with her incredible physique and modeling work has resulted in Yuan becoming incredibly popular online, amassing a huge 337,000 followers on Instagram.
