The bodybuilding community is in mourning following the news of Christian Figueiredo's untimely passing. The prominent bodybuilder, known for his awe-inspiring physique, died at just 29 after suffering a stroke during a liver surgery.

His death has left fans and colleagues devastated.

The heartbreaking announcement was made on Instagram by Christian's devastated wife, Vivi Torres. The couple, who were on the brink of commemorating their 11-year anniversary, had become an emblematic pair in the bodybuilding circuit.

Vivi, attempting to articulate her grief, wrote, "It will always be you! Forever. I love you and I will always love you." She poured her feelings into her tribute, adding, "God took you close to Him, to a beautiful and safer place you deserve where he will give you tranquillity and peace."

Christian's impact on Vivi's life was profound, and she elaborated that he taught her the "true meaning of marriage, partnership, and love." Their relationship, which faced challenges, had only grown stronger with adversity. "I only have good memories of you. I love you and I will always love you Mo. What a pain my God. Rest in peace my love," she concluded.

Those close to Christian, who was preparing to compete in the IFBB in 2024, have also spoken out, providing insight into the circumstances of his passing. A source close to Christian shared with Generation Iron that what was anticipated to be a routine surgery led to unforeseen complications.

Another colleague and friend, Ricardo Alexandre Martins Correia, echoed the sentiments of shock and grief. He recounted the harrowing events at the hospital, stating, "Chris needed the surgery but sadly had a stroke. They tried to prevent the bleeding from getting serious and then he had an unusual heart attack. The body went into shock." Correia added, "Life is like that, there are things out of our control. We lost a brother, a guy I will love forever."

Christian's legacy in the bodybuilding world is noteworthy. He had recently acquired his Pro card in 2022 during Brazil's Musclecontest and was renowned for his dedication and discipline in the sport.

This tragedy is further heightened by the recent violent death of another Brazilian bodybuilder, Eustácio Batista. The ex-bodybuilding champion faced an untimely end during a training session in São Paulo, with assassins brutally gunning him down – a horrific event captured on surveillance cameras.

The losses endured by the bodybuilding community in such a short span is a somber reminder of the fragility of life. As tributes pour in, it's evident that Christian's influence and memory will endure, leaving a mark on the hearts of many.

Our thoughts are with Christian's friends and family at this devastating time.
