Social media has been left divided after a man posted a video of his wife while she was in labor, but decided to add a dog filter.
Childbirth is one of the most beautiful things that a couple can share in life as they welcome their new offspring into the world.
The event is experienced very differently between the mother and father, and it's usually the job of the latter to ensure all runs smoothly, or have their hand squeezed until it's purple.
Some partners can get into trouble for sneaking off to grab food or falling asleep in the delivery room - but one man decided to do something extremely peculiar.
Sarah Griffith was in labor with her first child - a scary yet exciting time - and her husband was tasked with documenting the life-changing day.
The video was uploaded to Sarah's TikTok page, where she wrote: "POV: You're in labor and you think your husband is getting sentimental footage for you to look back on."
The video is interesting, to say the least, with Sarah lying in the hospital bed with what appears to be the oversized head of a semi-hairless dog.
I'm sure we're all in agreement, the face isn't even that of a cute dog and looks like something even the greatest of canine lovers would struggle to defend.
That being said, Sarah does explain the situation in the caption to the video, where she penned: "Husband divides social media as he puts dog filter over wife’s face as he films labor."
Despite this being an inside joke (hopefully), users were split in their reactions, with some jokingly declaring that the couple should get divorced.
"The way I would walk mid contraction to my lawyers office for divorce papers," one person wrote, with a second simply adding: "Divorce."
Others appreciated the husband's attempts to make his wife laugh, saying: "That’s something my man would do it just to make me smile," to which Sarah explained that it had the desired effect.
A fourth user simply wrote: "Dobby has no master," and it's honestly difficult to disagree with this comparison, although Dobby didn't have a tuft of wispy white hair.
It appears the joke went down well and the new baby has parents who appreciate a good bit of banter... we hope!
