Caitlyn Jenner has responded after Marjorie Taylor Greene intentionally misgendered her by dismissing her as a "man in a dress".

The 47-year-old Georgia Representative provoked widespread backlash after she insulted the former Olympian, who is currently running for governor of California in the 2021 gubernatorial recall election in the state.

In a tweet shared with her 423,000 followers on Twitter on Monday, July 12, the pro-Trump conservative Congresswoman slated Jenner, stating:

"GOP support & consultants working to elect Jenner for Governor in CA are playing the left's stupid identity politics game. A game that sells out our faith, family, and freedoms.

"Stop promoting this man in a dress & NEVER-Trumper. CA Patriots worked too hard & deserve better. [sic]"

Outspoken as ever, Jenner responded to Greene's disparaging tweet, writing:

"Tough talk coming from someone who backed down to the woke mob and settled out of court with a Twitter troll. Now your money is being used to take guns away from law-abiding Americans."

This comment seemingly refers to a civil suit filed against Greene by a Los Angeles-based political donor group, which resulted in her being prohibited from blocking people from her social media accounts while holding office.

Per the Associated Press, Greene agreed to pay $10,000 in legal fees to MeidasTouch back in May of 2021 under the terms of this settlement, which the organization pledged to donate to gun reform lobbyists.

MeidasTouch co-founder Ben Meiselas touched on the controversy in a tweet of his own posted on Wednesday, July 14.

He wrote: "How is it actually real-life to wake up and read about how Caitlyn Jenner is mocking Marjorie Taylor Greene for settling the federal case we at MeidasTouch filed and donating Marjorie’s money to groups that support common-sense gun reform? I had to pinch myself."

Earlier this year, Greene sparked outrage after she posted an image of a transphobic sign across the hall from Illinois Representative Marie Newman, whose daughter is transgender.

The controversy was ignited after Newman posted a blue-and-white transgender flag to her own office door in celebration of the US House of Representatives passing the historic equality reform bill.

However, Greene then responded by sharing a sign of her own, which read: "There are TWO genders: MALE & FEMALE. 'Trust the Science!' [sic]"

This act of protest was subsequently condemned by a number of celebrities and political pundits as prejudiced.
