A married couple in Utah have revealed they found out they were actually related to one another - but they haven't let that small fact break up their relationship.

Tylee and Nick Waters took to TikTok to share the details of their... rather unique situation after finding out that they were more than just husband and wife.

The couple, from Utah, shared a video of them dancing together to the Lynyrd Skynyrd song 'Sweet Home Alabama' as they wrote in overlay text: "Over 3 years into marriage and we just found out we are cousins."

Confirming it wasn't just a bit, Tylee added in the caption: "I wish I was kidding."

Understandably, the TikTok blew up and received over 5.7 million views and almost 400,000 likes since it was shared at the end of July.

While finding out such a revelation may make many question the future of their marriage, Tylee responded to a commenter to confirm that she and Nick were not splitting up over the fact they're related.

The viewer asked: "Are you guys still married after finding out you are cousins?", to which Tylee shared a video of them dancing as Nick came into shot playing the drums on a pan and wrote on the screen: "We have thought about it real hard and our answer is...." as the music playing in the background said "yes",

While Tylee and Nick have shared several other light-hearted videos talking about them being related, they have yet to confirm exactly what kind of cousins they are, whether that's first cousins or something further removed.

One follower left a comment joking: "Siblings or dating? BOTH," to which the couple hilariously responded: "When people ask how we met."

Now, of course they're not actually siblings, but finding out you're married to any direct family member - no matter how far removed - is not really what anyone wants to discover.

Regardless, the pair haven't let that fact dampen their sense of humor as they also shared a video letting fans know some "silly goofy facts about our marriage".

The first fact was that they remarkably shared the same birthday, the next was that they recently found out they were cousins, and the third was that people think they look alike.

Understandably, viewers were clamoring to find out the full story and begged the couple to do a 'storytime' on how they actually discovered the family connection three years in to their marriage.

One wrote: "Please just tell us the story of how you found out… I know it’s gotta be hilarious" while another commented: "I just need to know if you're kidding or not. I need the algorithm to bring me back to the story time."

Here's hoping Tylee and Nick drop that storytime soon to answer the many questions their followers have.
