Every parent-child relationship is unique, with different people expressing their paternal affections in different ways. Case in point, this mother, who licks her 21-year-old old daughter awake "like a puppy" every morning.
The unusual routine was revealed in a clip from the TLC series sMothered, which takes a look at extreme mother-daughter relationships. In the video, Marcia walks into 21-year-old Alena's bedroom and licks her face.

However, instead of being jolted awake, Alena giggles and later informs the cameras that she enjoys the unusual morning routine that she shares with her mom.
"I love it when my Mamma licks me, it kind of makes me feel closer to her because we're doing something funny and out of the ordinary," she tells the camera. "It's a thing we do every single day!"
"She kept pestering me for a puppy and I couldn't get her a puppy," Marcia adds. "So I turned into the doggy. Alena tastes pretty good and all sweet, I just want to eat her all up!"
Alena, who has an enzyme deficiency, was adopted by Marcia when she was just a toddler, and the pair are now inseparable and regularly lick each other.
However, licking is not the only bonding activity that the pair share and they also chase each other - whoever does the running gets licked all over when they are caught.
"When I catch my Mamma I do all my kissy-poos and I kiss her all up," Alena explains. "She's very kissable!"
While Marcia admits that it is unusual for a mother to lick her 21-year-old daughter, she wants to continue the unusual practice to keep their bond strong.
