A no-waste influencer has divided opinions after she revealed that she makes her own "reusable" toilet paper.

Posting to TikTok, Ali, also known by her username @tiny_waste decided to let her 56,000 followers into a little secret, revealing to them that she uses old Christmas pajamas as "family cloths" to wipe after using the toilet.

When asked by a fellow TikTok user to elaborate on what she meant by a "family cloth", she said: "I don't know who came up with the term 'family cloth', but it's an unfortunate name for cloth toilet paper.

"Let me show you the setup."

Ali then proceeded to show her followers the facilities that her family has in their upstairs bathroom, giving them a glimpse of their fancy bidet as well as their basket of reusable wiping cloths.

"This is a basket of clean wipes, mostly flannel cut from old Christmas pajamas," she explained. "When I use the bathroom, I let the bidet do all the heavy lifting, pat dry with a clean wipe and then put the used wipe into this bin which will eventually go into the laundry."

She then goes on to clarify that "no wipe is used for multiple bathroom sessions without being laundered - that would be disgusting."

"I personally love cloth toilet paper because it's sturdier and softer on my bum," she added. "But my husband is not a fan so we also keep regular toilet paper."

After watching the minute-long video, her followers took to the comment section to let their opinions be known, and let's just say the masses were divided on the "no-waste" issue.

"Nope. Still poop left. I'm not sticking that in my washer," said one user, seemingly unfamiliar with the benefits of a bidet.

"When I heard family cloth. I was very scared y'all were sharing like a single rag hanging on a hook by the toilet," another user added, thankful that wasn't actually the case.

A third chimed in with: "Okay in addition to a bidet it makes sense. without I couldn't really feel like you could properly clean the cloths."

"I don't understand what kind of nightmarish bowels some people have but mine is CLEAN after I use the bidet," this user stated, supporting the move, however, another user said that "the ick factor wasn’t removed" for them.

Another Tiktoker also agreed with the stance stating: "You couldn’t pay me to do this."

Others were totally on board with the idea though because they saw the potential in reducing waste.

"Okay thank you because I'm newish to the bidet life and I'm like wow I'm wasting so much toilet paper to literally just dry myself lol."

"I mean the bidet does the heavy work. this works. I appreciate anyone who goes low waste without pressuring other consumers," added this user.

Though it might seem controversial to some, it's logistically actually a good idea considering a bidet's objective is to make you clean and the wiping cloths are there just to soak up any excess water.

Genius.

Don't knock it until you try it.
