A female personal trainer has been praised by social media users after her response to a guy she says she caught staring at her while she worked out at the gym.

PT Heidi Aragon took to social media last week to share a video of the moment she spotted a "creepy old guy" allegedly staring at her as she performed sets at her gym.

Sharing the video to her TikTok account (@fit_with_heidi), Heidi captioned the post: "Don’t sit there and tell me you’re not doing something when I have proof."

In the video, she can be seen working out, before pointing out: "This creepy old guy at the gym kept coming over and staring at me." In response to the stares, Heidi attempted three different methods in order to get the man to stop.

Check out Heidi's video below:

Firstly, after spotting the man, Heidi asked her husband to come over and work out next to her. However, it would appear that despite another man being there, this was not enough of a deterrent to stop the male gymgoer from staring. As she writes: "Even after he came over he CONTINUED to stare."

So, Heidi fought fire with fire, telling her followers: "I decided to stop working out and stare back."

Yes, in an attempt to stop the man staring at her, Heidi decided to give him a taste of his own medicine and stare at him.

However, despite initially thinking her retaliation had worked, she realized that the man's gaze continued as she attempted to do her sets.

"Then I got fed up and went over and addressed him," she writes.

Revealing what she told the man, Heidi added: "I told him if he's gonna workout in this corner he needed to stop staring and making me feel uncomfortable. His response was: I'm just looking around. I then told him I record my workouts and I have him on film. He shut up real quick."

In less than a week, Heidi's video has amassed over 7.7 million views and more than 10,000 comments, with many other TikTok users praising her confidence to confront the man.

"Why do men assume if we are in public they are allowed to stare at us like this? We don't exist for you to fantasize about," one person commented.

A second added: "Good for you for having the confidence to go over and talk to him!"

And a third replied: "This happens too often to women from old guys. Happens to my girl all the time. Sorry y'all gotta deal with this but proud of you for addressing him."

Finally, a fourth TikTok user commented: "This was so inappropriate of him, but the fact you remained calm even throughout it all, shows your true character. You're awesome."
