Man unbelievably catches phone dropped by someone on rollercoaster
Dropping and breaking your expensive smartphone is one of the most devastating things that can happen to you in this day and age.
I mean, phones are pretty much everyone's prized possession in the modern world. We need them on our person on a daily basis. Whether we're using them to pay for our overcomplicated, millennial-esque Starbucks order, or using them to take multiple versions of the same duck-face selfie to post as our next Instagram snap...
Evidently, phones are an absolute essential.
And while there are many everyday situations in which our phones are vulnerable to breaking (they can smash during an activity as mundane as walking down the street), imagine dropping your phone while on a rollercoaster?
Well, just that happened during a ride on PortAventura Park’s Shambhala rollercoaster in Spain.
Miraculously, though, another person on the ride managed to catch the phone as it plunged from up high.
Take a look at the moment a man manages to catch a phone mistakenly dropped by another passenger:
The start of the video shows the phone-catching hero simply enjoying what appears to be a very fast-paced rollercoaster.
With a smile on his face, the thrill-seeker persistently looks back the higher he gets. Moments later, an iPhone X suddenly shoots - seemingly out of nowhere - in his general direction. He swiftly extends his arm as far as he can, across the person next to him, to catch the gadget and does so with ease.
When he realises his incredible victory in catching the phone, he starts celebrating by waving both arms in the air.
The man (YouTube handle: Sirsammy 15) posted the video on his YouTube channel with the following description:
"I caught a strangers phone in mid air on a roller coaster! I was in Spain at Port Aventura on Shambhala ride and saw the person a few rows ahead drop their iPhone X. Long story short I caught it. This roller coaster is moving at over 130kms…was once Europe’s tallest and fastest coaster.. only recently beaten [sic]."
You're an absolute legend, Sirsammy 15!
