Lovers of the iPhone have been left shocked after new footage shows how easily the newest model appears to break under pressure.

It's that time of year again when tech lovers scramble to get their hands on the latest gadgets, and whenever Apple releases something, it usually turns into a frenzy.

So when you spend a significant amount of money on the latest phone, you'd probably expect it not to break due to normal wear and tear.

Well, the latest iPhone 15 has been put through its paces by popular YouTuber JerryRigEverything and it's shown that the devices are pretty weak.

The alarming revelation occurred when the stress test resulted in a significant crack appearing immediately on the back panel of the iPhone 15.

While the phone itself seemed to function adequately, the minimal force applied during the test left many observers concerned about its durability.

No one expects their smartphone to survive extreme scenarios like being run over by a car or falling off a building. However, the baseline expectation is that a smartphone should withstand common accidents like being dropped from a standing position or placed in a back pocket without suffering substantial damage.

Because we've all sat on our phones at some point, haven't we?

Concerned viewers rushed to the comments, as one person said: "Damn I was not expecting that back glass to crack with so little pressure lol. I think mine and Zack’s jaw probably dropped at the same time."

A second added: "Holy crap the glass cracking genuinely made my jaw drop. I was fully expecting it to survive it like usual wtf," while a third concluded: "Damn that break was shocking."

Considering that the lowest cost of an iPhone 15 in the US is $799, it should arguably be a bit more durable than the video makes out.

It goes without saying, make sure you buy a case to protect your phone and don't purposely stress test it like in the video - otherwise, that could turn into a pretty costly endeavor.

While we're on the subject of iPhones - did you know that the sound button on the side of your device has more abilities than just changing the volume?

Did you know that if you held down the the buttons together for about two seconds, an option will pop up to call emergency services? It can also double up as a way of contacting your saved emergency contacts.

To add to this, you can also use the volume up button to take a photo if you can't reach the screen during a group selfie!
