It's a sad fact of dating that your date may be a creep. And, unfortunately, this seems to have been made worse with the rise of online dating. In essence, online dating is like going on a blind date. You don't know much about the person you're meeting and they might not even look like the person they claim to be on their Tinder profile.

However, if it does turn out that your date is a creep, it can be hard to know what to do about the situation. If you leave, you run the risk of them getting angry and hunting you down. But, not only this, if you stay, you could end up possibly putting yourself in danger.

But, thankfully, some companies are now taking action to deal with this growing trend.

A bar in Florida is looking out for its female customers by offering them a special shot in order to get out of bad dates. The Iberian Rooster, a Portugese restaurant, has a sign in the ladies toilet detailing how to order the secret drink. It reads:

"Hello, are you on a date that isn't going well?

"Is your Tinder or Plenty Of Fish date not who they said they were on their profile? Do you feel unsafe, or even just a bit weird?

"We're here to help, just go to the bar and order an Angel Shot.

"Neat: Your bartender will escort you to your vehicle.

"With ice: Your bartender will call an Uber of Lyft for you.

"With lime: Your bartender will call the police.

"We'll handle things discreetly, and without fuss (we've been there, and we want you to know that you're in good hands.)"

"The goal for this place was to be a safe place where people can go on a romantic date. We don’t want someone else to ruin a good time," Russell Andrade, the restaurant’s owner, told the Tampa Bay Times.

It's not the first bar to use a drink order to protect females, as a bar called the Brickyard in St. Albans, UK, has a similar scheme posted in its ladies bathroom. In theirs, they urge female customers to go to the bar and ask for Rachelle or Jennifer if they need help getting out of a bad date. Their sign reads:

"Tinder date gone wrong? Doesn't look like their picture or just plain weird?

"If you're on a date and it's not going well, come to the bar and ask for Rachelle or Jennifer and we'll get you out of it and/or get you a taxi.

"Your safety and happiness is our highest priority. If anyone is bothering you or making you feel uncomfortable please tell us.

"We will discreetly move them away, and if necessary ask them to leave. the Brickyard is safe and fun, we want you to enjoy your time here. Talk to us and we'll sort it out."

It's a sad sign of the times that posters like this need to exist, but it's also great that these bars are running these schemes to keep females safe. If you are heading out on a date, let friends and family know where you're going and who you're meeting before you set off.
