A woman has been left mortified after discovering she had accidentally bought a sex toy on her mom's eBay account - after her mother sent her texts asking if she was lonely.

Jessica Smith - who is single - from Chester, England, heard from a friend that the purple 'Rampant Rabbits' were selling relatively cheap on the auction site, so she decided to see what all the fuss was about and buy one for herself.

However, despite actually intending to purchase the item as a 'Guest', Jessica failed to realize that she was still logged in to her mom's eBay account.

The following afternoon, Jessica's mom, Jackie Dixon, decided to further embarrass her daughter, by sending her a screenshot of the purchase, along with messages that read "what's this???" and "are you lonely?"

Realizing she's been caught out, Jessica decided to share her drama on Twitter, sharing a screenshot of her mom's messages along with the caption: "How's everyone’s lockdown going I’ve just bought a dildo signed into me mums eBay account"

Speaking to Kennedy News, Jessica said: "I was absolutely mortified. I wanted the ground to swallow me up. I was just so embarrassed, I couldn't reply straight away. I didn't know what to say.

"Mom hasn't stopped making fun of me since. It's a really good job she's a good sport. She's told me to stock up on batteries too.

"I just did it on my phone without thinking I would still be logged in to mom's account. I was meant to check out as a guest, but that obviously didn't happen."

"It's the first one I’ve ever bought."

"It's meant to arrive on Monday [and] I'm looking forward to it to be honest."

Needless to say, Jessica's Twitter followers saw the funny side, with one person jokingly asking: "Was it used or new and what was your maximum bid?"

Another couldn't quite get over Jackie's response: "ARE YOU LONELY? Hahahahahahah screaming."

And another typed: "Love the fact her mother is fully creasing about it, any future hubby is gunna hear some stories haha!"

And to make matters even more bizarre, it seems like more people than I originally thought had similar stories they were happy to share:

It's certainly nice to see people are keeping themselves entertained in lockdown!
