A woman has divided viewers after sharing a video of her marking a six-foot measurement on her door frame to test whether potential dates are being truthful about their height on dating apps.

The user who posted the TikTok video, @samanthalea96, jokingly captioned it: "You must be at least this tall to ride."

She continued in the text overlay: "Fact checking guys we invite over from Hinge that say they're six foot."

Considering height is a delicate topic for many in the dating world, it goes without saying that the video attracted a very mixed response. In fact, since it was posted less than a week ago, the video has managed to rack up over 10,000 comments.

While many backed Samantha, highlighting that height is typically an important factor for women when it comes to romance; others slammed the TikToker for supposedly not giving shorter men a chance.

Taking Samantha's side, one user commented: "It’s not that it isn’t okay to be short but like don’t lie about it."

Another agreed: "It doesn't matter at all how tall they are, but they shouldn't lie. Neither lying or body shaming is okay."

A third said: "They aren’t making fun of guys for being short they are making of them for lying about it."

Others argued, however, that it ultimately does not matter whether their dates hit the six-foot mark exactly.

One wrote: "The fact that you cannot tell by looking at them means it does not matter if they are 6ft or not."

Another referred to the video as "body-shaming".

Some male TikTokers suggested a man's equivalent could be placing a scale at the front door to check the weight of their dates.

For example, one said: "I’m gonna put a scale at my front door and see how well that goes over."

A second wrote: "Note to men: a weight scale under your front rug is the equivalent of this. Go for it."
